The Chase's Anne Hegerty in trouble with Bradley Walsh after insult

Bradley Walsh was displeased after Anne Hegerty launched a series of insults aimed at the host on tonight's episode of The Chase.

In a repeat episode from 2020, ITV aired a celebrity special of The Chase featuring comedian Dane Baptiste, rugby referee Nigel Owens, TV presenter Anita Rani and sports broadcaster Mark Pougatch.

First to face The Governess in the head-to-head was Dane Baptiste, who had scored an impressive £8,000 in the cash builder.

As usual on The Chase, it's normal for the chaser and the contestant to trade barbs, but on tonight's show, the digs from Anne were aimed solely at Bradley.

Upon meeting Dane, Anne said: "It's so nice to have someone with original jokes on the show." Bradley, vexed by Anne's comments, sarcastically replied: " Hysterical." However, Anne wasn't done there, as she further taunted Bradley.

Turning back to Dane, Anne said: "Some of Brad's jokes are older than you."

Dane's success from cash builder continued in the second round. Opting to take the £8,000 he had earned, despite Anne's higher offer of £40,000, Dane flew through the head-to-head and got back to the table while being two steps ahead of The Governess.
