Viewers watching The Chase on Wednesday evening took to Twitter to make jokes after one contestant from Glasgow experienced an "epic fail".
University of Glasgow student Claire was the first member of the team to take on the chaser, but was first asked by host Bradley Walsh to tell him about herself.
She revealed that she is currently studying a PhD in history at the university, and when asked by Bradley to give more details she stated: "The long nineteenth century. I do socials, sexuality, gender. A wee bit of everything."

As many viewers at home noted, however, her history knowledge was insufficient when facing off against chaser Paul Sinha.
Claire eventually lost and was sent home, but one question she got wrong in particular had many Chase fans scratching their heads.
The question read: "In what year did Emmeline Pankhurst found the Women's Social and Political Union?"
Despite the time period being the subject of her PhD, Claire incorrectly put 1863 when the answer was 1903.
Explaining why she got the answer wrong, the student said: "I'm not good with dates, I'm more good with themes.
"People have a misconception that historians know dates, very specific dates, but I don't."
It wasn't long before viewers at home shared their thoughts on Twitter.
One pointed out: "Not knowing dates seems like a bit of a drawback for a historian."
"History student gets history question wrong klaxon," noted a second.
And a third questioned: "Studying history but doesn’t know dates?!"
Meanwhile, a fourth stated: "Gets 19th century historically important question wrong."
"History Phd and gets it totally wrong," tweeted an fifth.
