The Chase fans praise Mark Labott as he shares weight loss update

The Chase star Mark Labbett on ITV's quiz show The Chase has had a huge weight-loss journey after dropping 10st during the pandemic.

The ITV's quiz show boffin, also known as The Beast, was motivated to shed some pounds after tipping the scales at 29st at his heaviest.

The much-loved Chaser was congratulated by fans on social media after he posted an update on his fitness journey, as followers were wowed by his hard work and dedication.

In recent years the 56-year-old was diagnosed with diabetes, and was almost put on blood pressure pills when he worked as a teacher due to his weight spiralling.

Mark wrote on Instagram: "Down to 52 inch chest from 60”. So was 5xl, now 2xl. Still a lot of work to do #xlorbust "

Fans took to the comments to praise the quiz whizz on his impressive efforts.

"Congratulations on your hard work. Keep going you’re doing fantastic," someone else replied.

Mark recently told The Mirror that he dropped the 10st by making small lifestyle changes, as he now weighs in standing tall at 6 foot 6 and 19st.

Mark said: “Several factors came together nicely and the weight has just fallen off. The principal thing has been running after a hyperactive three year old in lockdown when the nurseries were shut.

“Instead of going to the fridge for a bit of late-night snacking all I could do was just collapse on a heap on the bed.”

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
