The Chase fans in disbelief as EastEnders' Dot Cotton lookalike appears on game show

ITV viewers were left doing-double takes after a Dot Cotton lookalike stormed on The Chase this week.

The eager quizzer stopped viewers in their tracks as she was introduced by host Bradley Walsh with disbelieving TV fans insisting that the contestant 'must have been separated at birth' from EastEnders legend Dot Cotton.

Loveable quizzer Fiona appeared on Thursday's episode of the ITV show as she geared up to on The Chaser.

But despite her enthusiasm, eagle-eyed fans couldn't help but comment on her likeness to Albert Square icon, Dot Cotton.

Before Fiona even had a chance to go up against the Chasers, ITV viewers flocked to Twitter to insist that they couldn't concentrate on the show due to her uncanny resemblance to the EastEnders hero.

"Wow! I literally thought it was June Brown," another echoed.

"It's true what they say, we all do have a doppelgänger, and Fiona's is June Brown! Even her mannerisms are the same," someone else insisted.

Meanwhile, a fourth added: "OMG! It's Dot Cotton on The Chase."

"Switched over the channel and couldn't believe my eyes. She's the very same as her," another viewer replied.

Aside from being a Dot Cotton doppelgänger, viewers watched as Fiona decided to 'go big or go home' as she took on Chaser Shaun Wallace's high offer of £45,000.

While she did her best, Fiona couldn't quite keep up with The Dark Destroyer who managed to trump her at the final hurdle.
