The Chase fans blast contestant who Bradley Walsh also takes a swipe at

Fans of The Chase weren't impressed by a contestant on the ITV gameshow on Thursday after she took the lower offer despite being the first player to face the Chaser.

Libbie, 27, from Bradford struggled in the cash builder, only managing to answer three questions correctly despite them appearing to be relatively easy.

Host Bradley Walsh seemed taken by surprise at some of the veterinary surgeon's answers and chatting after her minute was up he joked: "Some of those questions there some of your animals could have got."

He went on to point out her nerves obviously got the better of her - something which she quickly agreed with.

However, when she jokingly asked to redo her cash builder, Bradley simply replied: "Ummm no."

When she banked £3,000 from her minute, she quickly rejected that as well as the higher offer of £27,000 from Chaser Shaun Wallace.

Instead, she opted to take the lower offer of £1,000 against the advice of her fellow contestants who wanted her to stick with the amount she had earned.

And viewers were quick to criticise Libbie online for setting a low standard despite being in the opening seat.

One Twitter user wrote: "Low offer straight off. Surely a first. #TheChase," while another said: "Imagine traveling to #TheChase studios and taking £1k, the low offer. What is the point?"

A third penned: "Low offer off the bat??? #TheChase"

And a fourth berated her, saying: "What's the point of £1k...what a cop out.

Despite the despair, it turned out to be a good decision as the blonde contestant made it back to play in the final chase.

Unfortunately, she was left to fight out out solo after fellow contestants Richard, 78, Shaun, 32 and Fiona, 65, were all caught.

It left her with an uphill battle and her final score of 11 was never going to be too difficult for the quiz genius.

Shaun got off the a good start and caught the contestant without gifting her any chance to push him back.

It took him less than half the time available to complete the game, catching Libbie in just 51 seconds.

Earlier in the month, Bradley was left in hysterics when a question poked fun at Declan Donnelly’s height.

As one of the contestants faced off against The Vixen Jenny Ryan, he was faced with the question ‘Who wrote the book No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference?’

The options were either Greta Thunberg, Malala Yousafzai or Declan Donnelly - the last of which host Bradley cracked up while reading, as Jenny laughed along too.

The Chase is on weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
