Adam Thomas is one of the most beloved soap actors.
The 34-year-old shot to stardom as Donte Charles in Waterloo Road in 2006. He appeared on the show until 2009 before he quit to join the cast of Emmerdale.
He played Adam Barton in the fictional Yorkshire village for nine years before he exited the Dales in 2018. The actor has been away from the world of soaps since but he is set to make his long-awaited comeback with the reprisal of Waterloo Road, which will return for season 11.

Adam has ventured into the world of gameshows this afternoon as as he takes on one of Britain's finest quizzers on The Chase. He will be pitting his wits against The Chaser alongside Amanda Byram, Brendan Cole and Naga Munchetty.
Away from the world of soaps, Adam hails from a very talented family as his brother, Ryan, starred as Jason Grimshaw in Coronation Street. He is also the twin brother of Scott Thomas, who competed on the second season of Love Island.
Scott coupled up with Kady McDermott and finished in third place of the popular dating programme in 2016. Adam credited his brother for helping him achieve his fitness goals as he showed off his ripped transformation earlier this year.
He heaped praise on Scott in a video shared on Instagram. He said: "For years I haven't felt comfortable in my own skin, not even the people who are closest to me would catch me with my top off. It's been a massive fear of mine for years to the point where I would even turn down opportunities.
"From television appearances to even lying by the pool on a family holiday, if it involved going shirtless the answer would be no. I was sick of revolving my life around this anxiety I had and decided it was finally time to make a change"
"My brother Scott and my best friend Eden hated seeing how much this fear was holding me back, they promised me @food4thoughts would help. These are 2 guys I trust more than anything, I've watched them both go through their own transformations so I knew if anyone was going to get me there it would be them. I put 100% trust into F4T and I can't begin to explain how thankful I am for everything they have done for me."
Adam later said: "I still can't believe the way I feel right now, this has genuinely changed my entire life. I have more time, more confidence and even my family and friends have noticed it too. Thank you boys @scott.thomas @edens_in_the_clouds_ You changed my life."
Scott was one of the first to comment as he gushed with pride over his brother's progress. He said: "Ah bro. Can’t describe how proud I am man…I know how badly you wanted this and you’ve done it man!! So proud to be part of your journey man and I know there is no going back for you now."
