The Chase contestant slams Bradley Walsh and his 'dad jokes' in ITV quiz show

The Chase was back on our screens on Monday night as Bradley Walsh introduced four new faces to battle it out against the chaser on STV.

And it is no secret the 62-year-old host enjoys a bit of banter with the contestants during their stints, often having a laugh together with people to ease the tension of the quick-fire quiz show.

But student Natasha on Monday's show was amused as she certainly didn't hide her 'cringe' at host Bradley's "dire" attempts at his one-liners tonight as she told Bradley "sorry, that was a bit of a dad joke."

She brought a fair £5,000 to the table as she went against Shaun Wallace, but it was one question in particular which sparked a one-liner from Bradley.

Shaun, known as the 'Dark Destroyer' pointed out Mozambique was the only country in the world to incorporate all the vowels as Bradley said he was going on holiday to 'Honolulu' no, 'hona-surf-board'.

Student Natasha apologised as she admitted his joke was 'dire' (STV)

"That was dire, a bit of a dad joke that one," said Natasha as she laughed at the show host before apologising as Bradley appeared shocked to be called out on it.

However the hosting sensation laughed it off before continuing on with the next question, but he didn't let her forget the jibe as later on in the show he had his own back.

"Taking the mickey out of me because of my age and now you're breaking my table," Bradley joked as he slammed a panel back in place that fell off as Natasha got put through to the final chase.

"Through to the final off you go," he added as the audience erupted with laughter, "Good job Natasha, really good."

Just minutes into the show, Bradley also joked he often sees things due to his age, when chatting to paranormal enthusiast Jamie but admitted "that is likely due to my age," as the panel laughed at him.

Meanwhile, the team lost Paula as she was sent packing her bags empty-handed and Natasha, Jamie and Martin all went head-to-head with the 'Dark Destroyer' in the final chase however lost the money pot with a less than impressive 12 questions.

The chaser himself even got the very first question wrong, and despite two pushbacks it still wasn't enough to take home the £15,000.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on STV.
