Cheery Chase contestant Lucy was a hit with viewers, despite failing in her bid to win £40,000. The 40-year-old was so positive that one viewer suggested she “ought to be running the country”.
The mother-of-two struck an upbeat note from the off. Viewers were clearly willing her on as they took to Twitter to express their thoughts on the second contestant on Monday's episode of the ITV show.
Some felt that Lucy’s spirit was inspiring as @Basweld1 wrote: “With Lucy's positivity she ought to be running the country!..#TheChase". Meanwhile, @PopplioPup tweeted: “Enchanting is the right word I'm absolutely obsessed with Lucy on #TheChase she just seems so full of positivity".

On the episode, contestant Lucy - a silversmith from the Isle of Wight - accepted The Dark Destroyer’s higher offer of £40,000 cheerfully. She called The Dark Destroyer “a legend” as she explained that she had “a bit of a soft spot” for him.
However, some viewers questioned Lucy’s cheerful attitude. @Queen_Vix88 tweeted that “no one is that happy", whilst @mr_chambers_ joked: “I bet Lucy’s so happy just to be away from her kids for the day… #TheChase".
After choosing the £40k offer, Lucy turned to Bradley Walsh and said: “Let’s just do it- I’m only here once’’. Lucy didn’t quite make it through to the final of the show, but still left with her positive attitude.
