A well-known Co Tyrone teacher and GAA referee will take to the screen this evening as he appears on ITV game show The Chase.
Fabian McGlone, a teacher at St Patrick’s in Newtownstewart, made it through several rounds of screening and quiz questions from producers of the popular show and will make his appearance on Monday evening.
Fabian says there has been plenty of banter locally about his upcoming appearance and was full of praise for show host Bradley Walsh.

“I’ve been getting plenty of stick already and I’m sure there will be plenty more messages to come.
“It took a few years actually, I had sent a form away about four years ago and I didn’t hear anything back for at least two or three years.
“I got a call one day out of the blue when the schools were closed during Covid, I don’t normally answer withheld numbers but I’m glad I did that day.
“I went through a few different rounds of questions and we went over to London for the filming last April.”
“Bradley Walsh was brilliant, he put you completely at ease and tried to make everything so calm and fun for you."
While Fabian wasn’t able to disclose how much money he came home with or which of the Chasers he faced, he spoke about getting some funny comments while officiating at a GAA game last weekend.
“I was doing the line at a MacRory Cup match between Holy Trinity and the Academy on Saturday,” Fabian adds.
“There was a few ones there who I didn’t even know who were asking me if I had won hundreds of thousands.
“I said do you think I would be standing here on a Saturday morning listening to you lot if I had won hundreds of thousands of pounds? It was all good-natured though.
“The kids are buzzing here in school, they are getting the night off homework so they can sit down to watch it, hopefully, they will enjoy it anyway!”
You can catch Fabian’s appearance on The Chase from 5pm on Monday 30 January on ITV.
