The Charlatans have announced the dates for a major UK tour later this year with a huge gig in Manchester in December.
The indie rock band, fronted by Salford’s own Tim Burgess, have released 13 top 40 studio albums over their 35-year career, with hits including One to Another, North Country Boy and The Only One I Know.
Their headline tour will kick off in Newcastle on November 24, 2023, before stops in Glasgow, Sheffield, Bristol and Cardiff. The four-piece will then perform at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

The shows will follow the band’s appearances at Y Not and Victorious Festivals this summer. They will also be appearing alongside fellow Mancunian Johnny Marr at a co-headline show at Halifax Piece Hall on August 26.
Tickets for the gigs will go on sale this Friday (June 9), with frontman Burgess encouraging people to share a tour poster on Twitter before Wednesday morning to take part in a competition to win a pair of guest list places and a signed setlist for each show. The singer said the band, which includes guitarist Mark Collins, bassist Martin Blunt and keyboardist Tony Rogers, will also be taking requests for songs to include in the show.
Posting on Twitter, Tim wrote: “Now to get us a setlist together. All requests considered*. What’re we saying? *They stand more chance of making it if they are actually by @thecharlatans.”
Fans flocked to comment with their favourite songs, with tracks My Beautiful Friend and How High already receiving some popularity. One even went as far to ask for Black Lace’s hit Agadoo.
Tickets for The Charlatans headline tour go on sale Friday 9th June at 10am here. Fans can get access to an exclusive tickets pre-sale from Wednesday (June 7) at 10am if they sign up to The Charlatans mailing list.
