The Centre, Livingston has announced the return of its ‘12 Days of Donation’ initiative.
Running from December 1-12, the initiative gives shoppers the chance to donate a different item every day, ranging from selection boxes, warm coats, tins of soup and breakfast cereals.
The donations will be delivered to local charity River Kids as well as social enterprises Kidzeco and Invisible Cities in time for Christmas.
Other items which can be dropped off at the donation box, located next to the Customer Service Desk, include tea, coffee, rice, biscuits and toiletry gift sets.
Many of the donations will be split between River Kids, which supports disadvantaged children and their families in West Lothian, and Kidzeco, which is located at The Centre.
They help families by selling affordable high-quality pre-loved children’s clothes, toys and essential equipment.
Over the years The Centre, Livingston have provided ongoing support for both organisations, including help with their Christmas toy donation appeals.
Winter coats, which must be in good condition, will be given to the Edinburgh-based social enterprise, Invisible Cities, who provide help and support to people experiencing homelessness and also train people who have experienced hardship to be tour guides in their own cities.
Patrick Robbertze, Centre Director, said: “Following on from last year’s ‘12 Days of Donation’ initiative we are delighted to be able to help Kidzeco, River Kids and Invisible Cities once again with our festive appeal.
“The generosity shown from our shoppers last year was incredible which is why we’ve decided to run it again to help make Christmas special for some families in the local area who are finding things a little bit harder this year.
“Every donation we receive over the 12 days will be personally delivered by our management team at the mall in time for Christmas.”
Tracy Murdoch, founder of Kidzeco, commented: “Thank you to The Centre, Livingston for their continued support of Kidzeco and including us in their ’12 Days of Donation’ initiative again this year.
“Last year, thanks to so many kind shoppers, we were able to really help out lots of local families who were finding it tough and we are very grateful that we’ll be able to do it again this year.”
