The Celtic record breaking challenge Ange Postecoglou's champions face to eclipse Brendan Rodgers Invincibles

Celtic are champions of Scotland again with four games to spare as an emotional Ange Postecoglou celebrated another success.

It had been clear for some time that the Hoops were on course to retain their Scottish Premiership crown, with a 3-2 victory over rivals Rangers last month all but pointing the trophy in the direction of Parkhead. Michael Beale's men had previously matched Postecoglou's stride for stride but the dominant Celtic squad simply would not give up ground at any point.

Celtic have an incredible tally of 95 points from a potential 102 so far this season, with a defeat to St Mirren in September standing as the only blemish on the campaign. Two draws, one against Rangers and more recently, Motherwell also points dropped in an otherwise spotless league season.

Two trophies in the bag and one eye on the Scottish Cup against Inverness next month with a teary-eyed Postecoglou 'wanting' the Treble for the efforts his side have put in. The Aussie has been posed with questions about points tallies all campaign but lies very close to an incredible record.

The tally of 95 points or more, on which the Hoops have won the title this season, has only been managed on six occasions. Martin O'Neill did it in the 2000/01, 2001/02, 2002/03 and 2003/04 campaigns with some of the club's most iconic players in recent memory. Neil Lennon also achieved said record in the 2013/14 season.

Of course, Parkhead fans won't have forgotten the exploits of Brendan Rodgers who brought an unprecedented double treble to Glasgow with his side going unbeaten in the 2016/17 season dubbed The Invincibles.

That titanic Celtic side ended on 106 points, a tally that Postecoglou's side can eclipse should they go four wins from four in their final games of the season. That would be 107 points for the campaign.

First up though is a trip to Ibrox to face Rangers, before Hibs away is sandwiched in between two home times with St Mirren and trophy day against Aberdeen.
