Lyall Cameron's pre-contract move to Rangers was predicted in a text message to the player back in December.
The 22-year-old has signed a pre-contract with the Ibrox club and will make the switch in the summer.
Dundee manager Tony Docherty is thrilled to keep hold of the player until the end of the season but will be equally chuffed when Cameron joins Rangers.
Cameron's former manager, though, predicted a move to Celtic or Rangers before interest emerged.
James McPake - who coached Cameron at Dundee - told The Scotsman of a message he sent to Cameron after the midfielder played his 100th game for Dundee.
Following the 4-1 win over Motherwell - in which Cameron netted a double - McPake insisted the midfielder would not be at Dundee for the long-term with a move to Celtic, Rangers or Birmingham City inevitable.
The message read: “You won’t get to 150 mate – Celtic or Rangers in the summer, or Birmingham City.”

On Cameron's move to Rangers, Dundee boss Docherty commented: "I'm not surprised and I think it is credit to Lyall Cameron for the level of performance that he puts in.
"That's him now, I think, 108 times he has played for the club and scored 27 goals, that is one in four for a midfielder which is outstanding.
"Even more than that, this year I had challenged him to step up to the plate with Luke [McCowan] going to Celtic.
"He has now contributed to 17 goals in 30 games in the Scottish Premiership which is good shooting when you look across any league. For a midfielder, that is a fantastic contribution."
Rangers technical director Nils Koppen said: “I am delighted that we have agreed a deal for Lyall to join the club and to continue his career at Rangers come the summer.
"He is a talented young player, who has already gained great experience in the Scottish Premiership, and adding young, Scottish talent to our first-team squad is hugely important to all of us at the club.
“Lyall has a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing him continue to grow at Rangers in the coming years.”
