The Bungalows—Florida Keys’ Only Luxury All-Inclusive Charms With A Relaxing Vibe

Located just an hour south of Miami, The Bungalows has created a tropical oasis where every guest can indulge in the best of Key Largo. Seeking your own space? Each of the 135 rooms is actually a private bungalow with a secluded outdoor shower, bathtub and lounge area. The resort is adult-only and couples and honeymooners are prevalent.

What to do when you choose to leave your bungalow? Water activities are king at The Bungalows. While many guests spend the day happily floating in the Zen pool or the slightly more raucous sunset pool, others jump on a paddleboard or glide through bay on a kayak. A floating Tiki bar departs several times a day if you choose to indulge in a cocktail as you float on the water. The sunset cruise is another highly popular activity for those who want to enjoy a perfect view. Anyone wanting to spend more time on the water can book an Everglades Eco-Tour or a Catamaran trip to the Outer Keys.

Exercise fans can join a daily outdoor yoga class or sign up for an hour in the unique, outdoor gym. Another favorite way to spend an afternoon is to check into the spa where multiple outdoor treatment cabanas boast waterfront views. After a relaxing massage or body treatment, guests can relax in the Himalayan salt room (which can be booked for a private session).

All-inclusive resorts sometimes have mediocre dining options. But not The Bungalows, where all meals are truly exceptional. Fish Tales features Italian fare and fresh fish. Guests can sample lobster ravioli, shrimp scampi and frutti di mare linguine. The catch of the day is always local and pizza is a lunch-time favorite. Sea Senor is right on the water and the cuisine here combines Mexican flavors and local seafood and produce. The carne asada and caramel flan are standouts. When it’s time for something truly special, head to Bogie & Bacall’s, the property’s slightly more formal steakhouse. You can start with a Wagyu beef carpaccio, move onto a filet mignon and add a side of truffle mac n’ cheese or sautéed spinach. The key lime pie is a required dessert.

Travelers will be happy to learn that health is a priority at The Bungalows. Temperature checks are standard before entering the spa and masks are required in all indoor areas. Crowds are non-existent and there are no elevators. Each bungalow has its own set of bikes and maintaining a distance from others is effortless.
