The Buffalo Bills picked a perfect time to put on one heck of a show… yet again

This is the online version of our daily newsletter, The Morning WinSubscribe to get irreverent and incisive sports stories, delivered to your mailbox every morning.

We’re now two weeks through the 2022 NFL season and while there are still a lot of question marks about a lot of teams, there is one very sure thing that we can all see as clear as day – the Buffalo Bills are the best team in football.

And it isn’t even close.

Did you see what Josh Allen and Co. did last night against the Titans? It was ridiculous. It was a game that was never in doubt. The Bills rolled to a 41-7 win over last year’s top seed in the AFC and it never even felt as close as that final score.

Josh Allen threw for over 300 yards, 4 TDs, and zero interceptions.

Stefon Diggs caught 12 passes for 148 yards and 3 TDs and sat out the whole fourth quarter because the game was out of hand. The whole fourth quarter!

The Bills’ defense, which is just as impressive as their offense, beat up the Titans and held Derrick Henry to 25 yards on 13 carries. They also closed out the scoring with a pick six late in the third quarter.

The Buffalo Bills put on a gosh darn show in front of a home crowd that partied all day in the parking lots and then partied all night in the stands watching their guys play like future Super Bowl champs in front of a national TV audience.

The Bills are now 2-0 and have won both of their games in primetime. They crushed the Super Bowl-champion Rams in LA on opening night and then they made the Titans look like one of the worst teams in the league (which they might be) last night. We’re only two games into the season but this Bills team hasn’t shown any type of holes for anyone to criticize or exploit.

They’re just an absolute machine on all sides of the ball and while it’s not always great to be peaking in Week 2, right now there feels like no reason to believe they can’t keep this up for the rest of year.

The Bills will, however, face a huge test in Week 3 when they go down to Miami to face Tua and the Dolphins, who are coming off a high-flying win over the Ravens. This classic rivalry feels like it’s about to be reborn, which is great for football because the AFC East has been largely a one-team division for way too long.

But if the the Bills blow out the Dolphins this coming Sunday then we should just give them the Lombardi Trophy and let everyone else play for second.

Because as of right now it’s the Bills, and then a lot of space and then everyone else.
