In this adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's acclaimed comic book run, The Boys is a superhero drama with a dark edge that was developed by comic fan and Hollywood star Seth Rogen alongside the likes of Eric Krpke and Evan Goldberg.
The Boys follows a group of vigilantes who seek to to take down corrupt superheroes in a world where they embrace the darkest side of celebrity and fame, with particular relevance for the corporate weapons that are the superhero team known as the Seven.
Expect some big set pieces and very dark humour in this new Amazon Prime Video television series.

Karl Urban as Billy "Butcher" Bate
In the comics, Billy is physically large and incredibly violent, Butcher is more than happy to blackmail, brutalize, torture and murder if it achieves his goals.
He is the leader of the Boys with a score to settle with the Seven.
Jack Quaid as "Wee" Hughie Campbell

The chief enemy of Billy, he is a patriotic superhero and leader of the Seven, with a cover story that he is an alien from another world, similar to DC Comics hero Superman.
Dominique McElligott as Queen Maeve
In the comics, Maeve is a member of the Seven with super-strength, flight and durability, but suffers with alcoholism and questions her team's stance.
Jessie Usher as A-Train
A speedster who is responsible for the death of Hughie's girlfriend Robin. He is very similar to the DC Comics character The Flash, particularly the Wally West incarnation.
Chace Crawford as The Deep
With the powers of super-strength, flight and durability, The Deep is marketed as the King of the Seas by Vought International and has obvious parallels to the DC Comics hero Aquaman.
Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir
In the comics, Black Noir is another long-standing member of the Seven alongside The Homelander, the enigmatic hero also has the power of super-strength and skills as a pilot.

Madelyn is a gender-swapped version of the comic character James Stillwell who is a major presence for the villainous defense contractor Vought International, who own the superheroes known as the Seven.
Jennifer Esposito as CIA Agent Susan Raynor
In the comics, Raynor is the director of the CIA and despises Billy but is sexually involved with him.
Simon Pegg as Hughie's father
The inspiration for the character of Hughie, Pegg will play the role of his father in the Amazon series.

The Boys takes place in a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame and revolves around a group of vigilantes known informally as The Boys who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.
The series is based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
