The Boys Franchise Expands With Prequel Series Vought Rising

The Boys tv series

The Boys universe is expanding with the announcement of a new prequel series titled Vought Rising, revealed at Comic-Con by Prime Video. The show will feature Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash reprising their roles from the flagship series, set in the 1950s in New York City to explore the origins of Vought.

The Comic-Con panel celebrated the success of the acclaimed season four of The Boys, with creator Eric Kripke and the main cast in attendance. Notable moments included a musical medley from Vought’s ice musical and revelations about the shocking plot twists in the latest season.

The season four finale addressed real-life events, with the episode title changed in response to a political incident. The storyline involved a potential assassination plot and unexpected character developments, setting the stage for a dramatic season five.

The Boys franchise has become a flagship for Amazon, with spinoffs like Gen V in production and the main series set to conclude after one more season. The success of the show has garnered a global audience, with season four attracting 55 million viewers worldwide.

Vought Rising will be helmed by showrunner Paul Grellong, with a team of executive producers including Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Ackles and Cash. The series is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, and other production entities.
