The Boston Celtics have the best starting five-man lineup in the NBA right now with their healthy starting unit of defensive-minded guards Derrick White and Jrue Holiday, All-NBA forwards Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, and star 7-foot-2 big man Kristaps Porzingis.
While the Celtics are undefeated at home so far, their quality of competition has been mixed. As the quality of play ticks up in the second half of December with Boston also set to make their first West Coast swing of the 2023-24 season, we will learn more about this ball club. But the early success of the Celtics’ starters has been everything we were promised and then some.
Tatum, in particular, seems to be developing even further into an elite superstar with anticipatory playmaking fueled by improving reads.
