The Boston Celtics signed All-NBA forward Jaylen Brown to a five-year, $304 million supermax contract extension, making him the highest-paid player in the NBA in terms of contract value in the history of the league.
The deal took time to finalize, but the Georgia native had overseas commitments as part of his role as vice president of the National Basketball Players Association.
The Celtics and Brown both benefit from the new agreement, ensuring a young core for the team and securing generational wealth for the former Cal standout.
Brown is known for his intention to make a positive impact outside of basketball, using his wealth to benefit society, and he made it clear at the extension presser that this is not going to change.
Check out the clip embedded above to hear what the hosts of the CLNS Media “A-List” podcast had to say about Brown’s new deal, what it means for Boston and more.
