Exciting news for fans of the Duffer brothers and their hit series Stranger Things! Matt and Ross Duffer, the creative minds behind the popular Netflix show, have announced their next project, a new series titled The Boroughs. The show has already attracted an impressive A-list cast, including Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O'Hare, Clarke Peters, and Bill Pullman.
While details about their roles are being kept under wraps, we do know the character names they will be portraying: Sam (Molina), Renee (Davis), Judy (Woodard), Wally (O'Hare), Art (Peters), and Jack (Pullman). Ben Taylor, known for his work on Catastrophe and Sex Education, has joined The Boroughs as an executive producer and will also direct several episodes, including the series premiere.
The Boroughs, created by writers and showrunners Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, is set in a seemingly picturesque retirement community where a group of unlikely heroes must come together to thwart an otherworldly threat that seeks to steal the one thing they lack - time.
This new series is part of the Duffer brothers' expanding portfolio following their major deal with Netflix in 2019. In addition to The Boroughs, Netflix has also greenlit another series from the Duffers and creator Haley Z. Boston, titled Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen. Furthermore, fans can look forward to a Stranger Things stage play, The First Shadow, making its Broadway debut next year after a successful run in London's West End.
The creative team behind The Boroughs includes executive producers Matt and Ross Duffer, Jeffrey Addiss, Will Matthews, and Hilary Leavitt of Upside Down Pictures, along with Ben Taylor. With such a talented cast and crew on board, The Boroughs promises to be another thrilling and captivating series from the Duffer brothers that fans won't want to miss!
