Edinburgh has provided the backdrop for many films and TV shows over the years - but few were as downright weird and random as CBBC series Hububb.
Growing up in the 1990s, you may have thought the likes of Teletubbies, Bodger & Badger, and ChuckleVision were about as weird as it could get - then, suddenly, out of nowhere, Hububb demanded we hold its beer and then some.
Or should that be his beer? For Hububb was the name of the show's lead character, who, in keeping with the aforementioned weirdness, happened to live in a 150ft tall monument in the centre of Edinburgh.

And this wasn't just any monument. The structure in question was the Melville Monument that towers above St Andrew Square. You know the one - it's been in the news a lot due to its links with slavery abolition 'delayer' Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville, to whom it was erected in tribute to.
Anyhoo, this wasn't a conversation that your average Hububb viewer was having back when the show first aired on CBBC throughout the UK in 1997.
The show was named after its star, British mime artist Les Bubb, who, when he wasn't kicking back behind a wee door at the top of the Melville Monument, could be found delivering goods, "anything, anytime, anywhere", around Edinburgh on his trusty bicycle.
Naturally, seldom did Les, and his delivery service accomplice, Mikey (played by future Game of Thrones star Miltos Yerolemou), manage to complete their rounds without running into a spot of mirth-filled bother.
Every episode, without fail, Les and Mikey got up to all manner of slapstick misadventures, all of which were utterly bonkers and surreal. You can think of it as a kind of Laurel and Hardy for '90s British children.

Primarily filmed on location in and around the capital, Hububb episodes regularly featured places that are still instantly recognisable for Edinburgh locals.
In one episode from Hububb's third series, which originally aired in January 1999, Les and Mikey end up at Leith Walk's legendary The Bed Shop, which has since moved address. Other familiar locations featured in the show include the New Town, Merchiston and Portobello.
Enjoying something of a cult popularity, Hububb ran for five seasons until 2001. Reruns of the show were broadcast on the CBBC Channel in 2002.
