It's an endless search for the perfect product for afro hair, and with drawers, cupboards and storage boxes full off trialled and tested barely used bottles of hair oils, leave in conditioners and moisturisers to name a few, that never seem to live up to expectations for many - could The Body Shop's new hair care range be the answer?
The retailer has launched the Jamaican Black Castor Oil hair care range for those with afro and curly hair types, and it includes a curl activator, a cleansing conditioner, an intense moisture mask, and a leave in conditioner.
Prices range from £14 to £16 for each product that is said to remove product build-up, help to detangle the hair and deeply conditions dry curls and coils. The products are said to be enriched with community fair trade shea butter and vegan keratin protein that will define and enable the hair to feel stronger and hydrated.
One satisfied customer who purchased the curl activator said: "I have received many compliments from others about how nice my hair smells and that is due to this product. The consistency is lightweight and doesn’t weigh the hair down, which I really like and makes my curls pop"
Another customer who has used the leave in conditioner had this to say: "I bought this to use on my daughters curly hair. I’ve been looking for a long time for something that would help the curls remain lovely for longer than a couple hours and this was it! She can even go to sleep and wake up with them looking good to go."
A third customer who tried the intense moisture mask commented: "This hair mask smells great and feels very nourishing! My hair feels super healthy and happy after using just once! Continuing to use regularly to give my hair a pick-me-up when it's feeling dull, and it's working wonders!
