The Block 2024 is winding down but before it finishes up, we’ve got the finale to contend with and Scott Cam has some words for certain contestants *cough* Kylie and Brad Baker *cough* who have apparently gone awol.
Appearing on Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, Cam called out the couple who were embroiled in the cheating scandal along with fellow contestant Mimi Belperio.
When asked if they would be appearing at Sunday’s finale, he said: “We can’t confirm anything with those guys, because they’re in communicado, so we’re not sure how it’s going to play out.”
Uh, someone might want to tell him that the couple have been gallivanting around town dropping social media clues and outwardly telling A Current Affair that they’ll be at The Block 2024 finale this Sunday.

Cam went on to describe their decision to walk away from the show as “pretty odd”.
“It’s shooting yourself in the foot, I suppose,” he added. “But look honestly, our publicity people, who are the people that talk to them when it’s on air and things like that, I don’t have communication with them because I’m doing other things.
“But we’ve got people at the network that do that, and they have been struggling to make contact with them throughout the time, you know, they haven’t made contact, so to be honest, we’re not sure at this stage.”
He went on to say that “we probably should have wrangled them a bit better” but it’s “an organic show… we sort of put eight, nine or 10 cameras on the ground and leave everyone to their own devices.”
When Fitzy told Cam that he’s been “biting his tongue” for a long time, Cam responded: “I think that contestants are changing these days. I definitely at times was biting my tongue, I try and keep everybody happy throughout the series.
“I’d like to keep everybody there to the end. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen this year.”
During the aforementioned A Current Affair segment, Kylie and Brad said they’ve “definitely learned some things along the way” about just how much we can actually do, no matter what else has happened or is going to happen,” and that they’re “still here and we’re going to keep going.”
As for what they’ve learned from the whole experience — which included Kylie walking off in a blaze of glory earlier this week — here’s what Kylie had to say: “I just stuck to my guns and we just have to see the ending be the ending.”
The Queensland couple – who are parents of four – then confirmed they will, in fact, be making an appearance this Sunday.
“We love everyone and we want everyone to come away from this with something achievable and a good result,” Kylie said.
The Block 2024 finale airs this Sunday at 7pm on Nine so we’ll just have to wait and see if the couple really will be showing up.
