The Block 2024 truly finished off with a bang. After arguably being one of the most dramatic seasons due to behind-the-scenes tea, the finale finished off with billionaire bidder Adrian Portelli buying up all five properties. After dishing out the dosh, Portelli has revealed some saucy details about his big spend and why he spent the most on Maddy and Charlotte‘s home, making them this year’s winners.
On Sunday, The Block fans were left stunned after Portelli cheekily revealed that he’d bought all five properties at the Phillip Island resort, ultimately spending $15.03 million on the renovated homes. He revealed this secret after dropping a whopping $3.5 million on Maddy and Charlotte’s vacay home, making them this year’s victors.
Following the jaw-dropping purchase, the billionaire bidder revealed that he intended for the young duo to win for two major reasons.
Why did Adrian Portelli spend the most money on Maddy and Charlotte’s house on The Block?
Speaking to HIT WA’s Allan & Carly, the LMCT+ boss revealed that he believed Maddy and Charlotte “deserved” the winning title of this year’s show.
“They came in late, they were the only ones that were picked on. They were bullied and it’s Un-Australian. Those girls — they’re so innocent and sweet,” Portelli shared before revealing the second reason, which is the more valid excuse IMHO.
“The second one is my Mrs, my partner. She’s a fanatic of the season and she said ‘Make sure they win!’ So I said I’ve gotta keep the Mrs happy,” he shared.
As they say, happy wife, happy life!
In a cheeky twist, Portelli said he clued the girlies in on how they could win, adding that it took “six weeks” of planning in the background.
“Me and the girls had a good chat and I just said go in order number five so I can guarantee you girls the win,” he spilled.
“I told them I’ll make them win, just go number five.”
What will Adrian Portelli do with all the houses on The Block?
As Portelli runs LMCT+ — a platform that gives punters access to exclusive deals, prizes and discounts — The Block resort (now dubbed Portelli Town) has been listed on the site as its biggest giveaway yet.
