The Blind Side actor Quinton Aaron has been hospitalised after coughing up blood.
The 40-year-old star, who played NFL player Michael Oher in the 2009 film with Sandra Bullock, was rushed to a hospital in southern California last Thursday.
He had been suffering from a fever and had a “blood-soaked cough”, with early tests showing he is dealing with Type A flu and pneumonia.
The One Tree Hill star has stopped coughing up blood since taking a round of antibiotics but did have a migraine which lasted several days, TMZ reported.
It is hoped that he’ll be able to return home after doctors administer a PICC line, a tube inserted into the arm to deliver antibiotics, other medicines, fluids, or liquid food.
“I feel optimistic I’ll be back on my feet in no time,” Aaron told the outlet.

The Halfway star had been due to perform and present at an event in Laguna Hills, Orange County, but was forced to miss the appearance due to his illness.
On Tuesday, he shared a Boomerang video on Facebook of himself lying in hospital and pumping his fist in the air in a show of gratitude.
“The outpouring of support and prayers has been a game-changer for me,” he wrote alongside it.
“While I've been dealing with a severe case of type A flu that has progressed to a bacterial infection and pneumonia, I'm choosing to focus on the positives and my path to recovery.
“The hospital staff has been incredible, delivering exceptional care and compassion. I'm excited to get back to my normal self soon. Because the fevers and Migraines are No Bueno! lol Just Saying. I’ll see ya soon!”

Aaron was also hospitalised in 2019 while suffering from an upper respiratory infection.
He was admitted to hospital after battling symptoms from early May to June and was allowed to return home after being treated for several days.
Aaron shot to fame in the film The Blind Side opposite Bullock, Tim McGraw, and Lily Collins.
Bullock won the best actress Oscar in 2010 for her performance in the movie. The film was also nominated for Best Picture.
The movie was adapted from Michael Lewis' 2006 book, The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, which told the real-life story of Oher's journey from poverty to becoming a hugely successful football player.
