'The biggest issue' - Ralf Rangnick sends Liverpool warning to Manchester United's players

Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick wants to see two key improvements from his side when they take on Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night after narrowly beating Norwich City 3-2 at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool come into the game knowing only a win is acceptable as they remain a single point behind Manchester City in the race for the title, but the Reds will be on a high after reaching their first FA Cup final in a decade on Saturday afternoon after they beat their title rivals at Wembley in the semi-final.

Jurgen Klopp 's side are battling on all fronts this campaign and it could be a season like no other with Liverpool already lifting the Carabao Cup, into the FA Cup final, about to play Villareal in a Champions League semi-final and just a point off top spot in the league.

United ran into a comfortable 2-0 lead against Norwich, but the Canaries battled back to level things up before Cristiano Ronaldo added his third of the afternoon to win the match against the Premier League's bottom side.

“We have to focus on our own performance. The result was good, it will lift our momentum and the confidence of the team, but we have to be realistic," Rangnick told Manutd.com after the game at Old Trafford.

“With that kind of performance it will be almost impossible to get something out of the away game against Liverpool, and then also away against Arsenal and home against Chelsea will be difficult.

“We need to play better against the ball with more physicality, with more aggressiveness. This was the biggest issue and the biggest thing that I was not happy with.”

Liverpool won the reverse fixture back in October by a thumping 5-0 score line and will be looking to show everyone the gulf in class between the two sides once again on Tuesday night.
