The biggest bonfires and fireworks displays in Cheshire, Lancashire, Yorkshire and Derbyshire

Forget soggy sparklers and anti-climatic bangers, there's some great Bonfire Night events taking place this year.

This year, the fifth falls mid-week, and many organisers are opting for the earlier dates instead.

And while Manchester itself has some great Bonfire Night offerings scheduled , there's also some great events just outside of the area that are worth checking out.

We've listed some of the biggest fireworks displays and events, all which are within around an hour of central Manchester and roughly a 30 mile radius - meaning many of these could be much closer, depending where you are.

Some include funfairs, live music, laser shows and more, making for a fantastic family night out.

So wrap up warm, get your wellies on and check out some of these spectacular Bonfire Night events taking place this weekend.
