Star comedians Joe Lycett, Kerry Godliman, and Phil Wang are among a stellar line-up to perform at the Hackney Empire next month in support of a breast cancer unit in Essex.
“The Big C-omedy Night” also sees Fern Brady and Jamali Maddix on the bill as organisers hope to raise £20,000 for the unit at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Compèring the evening is Fin Taylor, a host whose comedy has been described as "gleefully provocative and packed with big, hard laughs."
The Big C-omedy Night is the work of breast cancer survivor Becky O’Sullivan, who has partnered with the production company Brash Events, and who said the hospital provided her with invaluable care following her cancer diagnosis.
"I’m incredibly thankful for the love and support I’ve received from my family and friends,” said O’Sullivan.
“However, there’s another group of people who have been by my side from day one — the NHS team at The Princess Alexandra breast unit. They were there whenever I needed them, bringing laughter, reassurance, and comfort during tough times.
“Creating this fundraiser with some of the UK’s top comedy talent is my way of saying thank you to them and ensuring they have the resources to continue their incredible support for others."
