The big break: Ronnie O'Sullivan and Laila Rouass list their east London home for £2 million

Snooker star Ronnie O’Sullivan and actress Laila Rouass are selling their east London home after separating at the end of last year.

The five-bedroom property, near Epping Forest, has been listed for £2 million with The Stow Brothers.

O’Sullivan and Rouass got engaged in 2013, but did not marry. In December, after more than a decade together, Rouass announced their separation on Instagram, writing: “I’m looking back at my last relationship with a smile and wave, because time moves on and I don’t like to play catch up.”

O’Sullivan is widely regarded as one of the greatest snooker players of all time. He won his first world title in 2001, aged 25, and holds the modern-era joint record for most world championship wins, along with Stephen Hendry.

His seventh world title in 2022 saw him become the oldest player to achieve world number one, at age 46.

O’Sullivan is still playing snooker and will attempt to win his eighth world title at the Crucible in Sheffield in April.

Rouass is best known for her roles in Footballers Wives and Holby City, and has also starred in Spooks, Midsomer Murders and EastEnders.

O’Sullivan and Rouass, who both grew up in east London, bought their house for £1.35 million in 2018.

O’Sullivan is a well-documented member of his local community, being a long-term member of the Woodford Green running club, and having volunteered for local charities on Christmas Day. Last year, he gave his backing to independent election candidate Faiza Shaheen after she was blocked from standing for the Labour Party, attending a local rally in June.

“I love this area. I think it’s one of the most amazing communities that I’ve ever experienced. I’m a big community person,” said O’Sullivan in a campaign video for Shaheen. “We’ve got a special thing going on around here in Woodford, and I just think it needs a local person that’s in touch with local people.”

Now, though, O’Sullivan is selling his home of six years. Inside, the Victorian property spans a total of 3,092 square feet over four floors.

On the ground floor, there is an open plan kitchen and reception room which spans 700 square feet: larger than the average London flat. It features an integrated surround sound system, underfloor heating and floor-to-ceiling doors which lead out onto the rear garden.

The property’s five bedrooms are on the two top floors, with the smallest having been converted into a dressing room. The principal suite measures 300 square feet and has been furnished with an antique mirrored chimney breast and a handmade marble fireplace.

There’s a home office and wine cellar in the basement, and a large driveway with space for multiple cars outside. But, unfortunately, there’s not a snooker table in sight.

Photos of the previous listing show that O’Sullivan and Rouass have made cosmetic changes to the house during their time there, including repainting the façade and remodelling the kitchen and living area, installing full-length Crittall doors. Fittingly, William Morris wallpaper has been added to two of the upstairs bedrooms.

“It’s hard to overstate the scale and stately finish of this impeccable property,” say the agents. “Sat just across the road from woodlands and open green space, this is a unique and luxurious find.”
