The best time to shop at Boots today to take advantage of bonus points

Customers are being encouraged to shop at a particular time at Boots today, in order to get the most out of their Boots Advantage Card. The popular loyalty card scheme is celebrating its 25th birthday, and card holders could earn up to four times the usual amount of points if they shop at a certain time.

Throughout August and September, the health and beauty retailer are treating members to exclusive offers, rewards and prizes for those who sign up to the free programme.

Typically, when making a purchase, shoppers can earn four points per £1 spent, with one point equating to one penny. But today, when shopping between 11am and 1pm, they could earn 16 points per pound.

Between 11am and 1pm, shoppers must use the code BIRTHDAYFOUR at the checkout to bag the bonus points. However, if you miss out, you can still get triple points until 5pm with the code BIRTHDAYTHREE.

But, if you can’t place your order until after 5pm, fear not, as shoppers can still get bonus points across almost everything until midnight with the code BIRTHDAYTWO.

The online offer must be applied at the basket when logged into your Advantage Card account, and is only valid between the specified time slots.

Double points will earn shoppers eight points per £1, with triple points earning 12 and quadruple offering 16.

There are some exclusions to the offer, including all Dyson products, Icon fitness, Activity Superstore, gift cards, Homecraft, selected NeoG, baby milks and pharmacy items. The purchase of Boots Travel and Insurance Services, Pharmacy Services, Boots Opticians, Boots Hearingcare, Boots Kitchen Appliances, charity, bundles and the paper bag levy are also excluded.

The loyalty scheme launched back in 1997 and is widely regarded as one of the most generous in the UK. It has over 15 million active card holders, with over 50,000 of those signing up to the scheme when it launched 25 years ago - still being regular and loyal shoppers with Boots today.

Earlier this year, Boots launched their Price Advantage as a way to offer immediate benefits to card holders, with more than 400 products each month offered at exclusive discounted prices.

Over the past five years, the most common categories for redemption of Advantage Card points are toiletries and nutrition, including the Boots Meal Deal. Skincare is the top category where customers are collecting points, so far this year.

December is the most popular month for redemption, with December 21 being the most popular day, as customers use points to pay for their Christmas shopping.

Hollie McLellan, Director of Customer Marketing at Boots, said: “The Boots Advantage Card is universally loved by our customers and has a special place in their hearts, so it was important to us that they get to celebrate this milestone birthday with us. Our new campaign ‘Our birthday, your rewards’ has been created to offer our best ever event for Boots Advantage Card holders, with amazing deals and promotions running over an eight-week period.

“There’s never been a better time to have a Boots Advantage Card, so if you don’t have one yet, be sure to sign up now and download the Boots app to make sure you don’t miss out.”

Over the next eight weeks, Boots will be revealing new birthday offers each week, across beauty, baby and healthcare, plus extra savings for students and bigger points for members of the Over 60s Rewards and Boots Parenting Club. You can sign up to the Boots Advantage Card here.
