The best street style from Milan Fashion Week SS24

In London, street style trends for the spring shows were experimental, but as the showgoers head to Milan, minimalism is on the menu. It shouldn’t come as a surprise - Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons are in town, so sleek and sophisticated is a pre-requisite.

Tailoring and sharp silhouettes are featuring heavily. Ties are the new statement accessory for women, and in bold colours (scarlet is a favourite), they add oomph to monochromatic outfits.

Point-toe pumps - trending during LFW - are taking over in Milan too, but crossing the channel, pairs get polished and even pointier. The Prada edition which features a spiky bat-ear-like bow, fits the bill and has been spotted on show-attendees including Scarlett Johansson.

Accents of gold are also popular, the shade is taking form in gloves, shoes and whole outfits, a sure sign that Tom Ford’s opulent collection, presented on Thursday, will catch the eyes of these front row magpies.

On Friday, the style auteurs will be embracing Gucci but, in the post Alessandro Michele-flamboyant era, we can’t be sure what that looks like. We’ll have to see until Sabato de Sarno unveils his first collection for the house.
