Each year those attending New York Fashion Week’s February shows typically have to plan their wardrobes around icy climes and snowstorms.
This season however kicked off with an unseasonably warm 15-degree first day on Friday and continued with a crisp, sunny weekend, allowing showgoers to flex their fashion know-how.
Alexa Chung, one of the many celebrities to have taken their seat front row, has made the case for throwing a fur collared coat over a slinky slip dress and ballet pumps, while others have opted for cropped tailored jackets and low-slung baggy denim.
Whether trenches, moto or biker jackets, leather outerwear has dominated, with the best worn long length over mini skirts, bare legs and boots.
