With summer approaching we all need a little inspiration for things to do.
Thankfully, Tripadvisor has just announced the winners of its 2022 Travellers’ Choice 'Best of the Best' Things to Do awards - and there are several Scottish choices.
Revealing all the must-do activities across the UK, the awards recognise those favourites that reviewers have lauded above all the others.
An incredible resource of tried-and-tested experiences, these awards are curated by the Tripadvisor team using the responses from its vast online community to pick out the best things to do.
The Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Things to Do Awards are based on all the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings over the past 12 months from travellers on the website.
The Top 10 UK best experiences
Edinburgh is home to two of the most popular experiences in the UK.
Both The Chocolatarium Chocolate Tour Experience and The Mountebank Comedy Walk of Edinburgh were named as the only Scottish picks in the top 10.
The Chocolatarium offers an immersive chocolate-making experience where you can make your own Scottish-themed chocolate and sample a wide selection of chocolates from both Scottish and international chocolatiers, including haggis and gin chocolates.
While the Mountebank Comedy Walk is a combination of a comedy club and a history class with a stand-up comedian that will have you in stitches.

Tripadvisor best attractions
In addition to recognising experiences, this year, Tripadvisor is also awarding the best-rated attractions around the world and in the UK – those must-see points of interest for travellers exploring the world and their own country.
The top attractions in the UK feature no less than four Scottish landmarks - and again the majority were in the capital.
Popular walking destination Arthur's Seat, the Royal Yacht Britannia, and the National Museum of Scotland were all named as top attractions in the UK.
While the Scottish Crannog Centre in Kenmore was also singled out as another of Scotland's best attractions.
