With the best beaches at least an hour’s drive south of the city, the traditional resort scene in Lima is somewhat limited. There are, however, a variety of large luxury hotels that offer a wide range of amenities and a few attractive extras that are ideal for travelers looking for a have-it-all hotel.
The Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center
One of Lima’s most luxurious hotels, the stylish interiors and interesting artwork peppered throughout the property create a pleasant escape from the city’s often frenetic pace. The extensive amenities at the Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center include a Heavenly Spa with 17 treatment rooms, a sauna and steam room, an indoor pool and a modern fitness area with a wide range of weights and cardio machines. The dining options are outstanding, from the casual Market 770 to Maras, which offers up some of the city’s best gourmet Peruvian cuisine.
Delfines Hotel & Convention Center
Set in San Isidro, Lima’s bustling business district, the luxurious Delfines Hotel & Convention Center enjoys some of the best views in the city of the verdant Lima Golf Course. The property has four dining options, including a lounge with live music and Delphos Bistró, an airy bistro with a stunning glass dome. There’s also a spa, a fitness center, a barbershop, an outdoor pool and a casino with slots and table games. Check out San Isidro by renting one of the property’s electric bikes. And those who like to make an entrance will be happy to hear the hotel also has its own heliport.
Country Club Lima Hotel
If you’re looking for the feel of a boutique hotel with the extensive amenities of resort, you won’t do better than the historic Country Club Lima Hotel. Located in the prestigious San Isidro neighborhood, this elegant property is rich in amenities, including a large outdoor plunge pool hugged by a ring of palm trees, a fitness center and a spa that offers a range of treatments. There’s also a fine-dining restaurant (with an indulgent breakfast buffet), a bar and a stylish salon for afternoon tea. Just steps from the exclusive Lima Golf Club, the hotel will arrange access for guests for a small additional fee.
Sonesta Hotel El Olivar
You’ll find this family-friendly hotel in the upscale San Isidro district, right next to El Olivar park, one of the city’s largest and most inviting green spaces. The Sonesta Hotel El Olivar is ideal for families looking for spacious suites with extra amenities, like living room areas and kitchenettes. There are two restaurant options: El Olivar Restaurant, which serves a rotating menu of buffet-style meals, and the more upscale El Olivar Sushi Bar. The hotel features a fitness room, a beauty salon and a large outdoor rooftop pool.
Swissôtel Lima
Abundance is the word that comes to mind when describing Swissôtel Lima. The stunning hotel features an extensive list of attractive extras like a beautiful interconnected indoor/outdoor heated pool surrounded by a stylish wooden sundeck. The spa comes complete with a sauna and a steam room. With five restaurants on site, guests can indulge in an eclectic range of dining options, including sushi, Swiss-style fondue and high-end Peruvian fare.
