It’s conference championship week in the NFL, with two games that will determine the Super Bowl 57 matchup.
One will be a rematch of last year’s game. The other? The top two seeds in the NFC will face off. Exciting stuff.
But as we’ve been doing during the entire NFL postseason, we’ve got to rank the possible Super Bowl games we could see in a few weeks. And this one’s fairly easy with just four different possibilities to choose from.
Wait, maybe that means it’s hard. There are four REALLY good teams left. But we’ll try it out. Let’s rank the four possible Super Bowls by watchability:
4
Cincinnati Bengals vs. San Francisco 49ers
Yes, this is the worst possible game of the lot … but it would be A FANTASTIC GAME. You see the dilemma here, don’t you?
But I think it would be a low-scoring affair. And we NFL fans like offense. Although there’s history here, with the Niners winning Super Bowl XVI and XXIII over the Bengals.
3
Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers
I almost want to say this is a 2B to our next game. But I have to make hard decisions here. And that hard decision is: A rematch of Super Bowl LIV — won by the Chiefs in 2020 — could be riveting. But I’m worried about Brock Purdy starting the Super Bowl could mean he struggles. Or what if a hobbled Patrick Mahomes is hounded all day by this defense like he was against the Bucs in 2021?
2
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Philadelphia Eagles
A near-perfect matchup. Two balanced teams on both sides of the ball, the Bengals trying to win after losing last year’s Super Bowl, Joe Burrow and Jalen Hurts exchanging touchdowns … YES.
1
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The two No. 1 seeds facing off. Chalky, but too good. I’d hope these two would run up the score.
