If there is one thing Edinburgh does well, it's pizza and it seems the judges at the Scottish Italian Awards agree after they named several of the city's pizzerias in the race to score the title of the best pizza in Scotland.
The annual awards, which celebrate the special links between Scotland and Italy, take place on November 27, with the finalists being announced across several hard-fought categories.
When it comes to pizza making, the ninth year of the event has seen four top pizzas in and around Edinburgh in with a chance of being crowned winner.
First up is both Pomo Pizzeria, which opened in 2019, and traditional wood-fired (in a state-of-the-art Italian Valoriani oven) pizza specialists Froth & Flame Paulo’s Woodfire Pizzeria on on Morrison Street in the west end.
While further out, the family-run Pizza Crolla's Italian Kitchen & Bar in Musselburgh and the ever-popular Cavaliere Restaurant & Wine Bar in Dalkeith also make the list.
