The best photos from the Manchester Remembers football match

Footballing legends and celebrities came together this afternoon for a very special match — the Manchester Remembers fixture. The game, held at Manchester City’s Academy Stadium, was a charity drive to raise money for some of the foundations set up after the 2017 Arena bombing.

On a sunny spring afternoon, a celebrity team led by Joe Royle and Peter Reid took on a celebrity outfit managed by ex-England boss Sam Alladyce and Top Gear host Paddy McGuinness. It was all in an effort to raise money for The Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust, Liv’s Trust, The Megan Hurley Foundation, The Remembering Nell Foundation and Eilidhs Trust to support the legacy of those who tragically lost their lives nearly five years ago.

While a final total for the game hasn’t been revealed yet, the goal was to generate £100,000 for the charities, and drew in a large crowd. Here are the best photos from the match.
