The best new TV shows coming your way in 2024 and beyond

Lee Jung-jae in Squid Game season 2.

November sees the start of two of our most anticipated upcoming TV shows, with Silo season 2 and Dune: Prophecy heading to our screens. But what about what's coming beyond those two shows? Well, there's still a lot left to come in 2024 in terms of small-screen offerings, including the return of one of the best Netflix shows of all time, with Squid Game season 2 arriving in December.

We've also got new expansions of franchises with DC's Creature Commandos and Jude Law's introduction to the Star Wars universe in Skeleton Crew on the way. Add in some more dramas, comedies, and fantasy shows, and the end of this year on the small screen is shaping up to be pretty epic. If that wasn't enough either, we've also got a look beyond this year into 2025 as well, with all the fun that's set to bring.

So, for all that and more, scroll on for our guide to all the best new TV shows coming your way on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus, and more.

Cobra Kai season 6 is being split into three parts this time around as it prepares for an epic goodbye. The next outing airs in November. Picking up from where things left off, the new episodes will see the show go global, with the event in Barcelona fast approaching. Only six members of the Miyago-Do qualified for the big face-off though, as tensions continue to grow between the teammates. After these five episodes, there will be one final release in 2025, but Netflix hasn't confirmed the release date of those just yet. Apple's hit sci-fi show Silo returns with its second season in November. However, there are a lot of mysteries about how and why the silo was built, and it seems the closer they get to the truth, the more danger lurks. While spoilers for the series are being kept to a minimum right now, we do know that season 2 begins with a rebellion gone wrong. For a more in-depth analysis, check out our Silo season 2 review, or to stay up to date with episodes, we also have a Silo season 2 release schedule for you to look over.

Arcane has finally hit Netflix and we're now at the second half of the new season! After the success of Dune: Part Two, a new prequel series is on its way to the small screen this year. Dune director Denis Villeneuve is on board as an executive producer.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Release date: December 3, 2024
Available on: Disney Plus

Skeleton Crew, starring Jude Law, takes place in the same part of the Star Wars timeline as The Mandalorian, and Dave Filoni said at Star Wars Celebration that the shows will all intertwine in "weird ways." Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts is also involved with the show, which is set to arrive this year.

Creature Commandos

Release date: December 5, 2024
Available on: Max in the US, NOW in the UK

Creature Commandos kicks off James Gunn and Peter Safran's new reign at DC. The animated show is the first of the upcoming DC movies and shows to arrive under Gunn's Chapter One plan and follows a black ops team of monsters brought together by Amanda Waller. Gunn is writing all seven episodes, and it's got a stellar cast, including David Harbour, Indira Varma, and Alan Tudyk.

Secret Level

Release date: December 10, 2024
Available on: Prime Video

Secret Level is a new kind of video game adaptation, bringing together stories from 15 of the biggest games for a new anthology series. The animated show tells separate short stories based on everything from Dungeons & Dragons to Pac-Man. The full line-up includes Armored Core, Concord (which was recently turned offline), Crossfire, Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Unreal Tournament, and Warhammer 40,000. PlayStation also gets an episode that explains that God of War teases in the trailer, too. Casting has yet to be confirmed, but we're pretty certain Keanu Reeves might be making a cameo.

What If...? Season 3

Release date: December 22
Available on: Disney Plus

What If...? Season 3 is an upcoming Marvel show that surprisingly doesn’t require you to know the multiverse like the back of your hand to enjoy. Of course, it helps if you watch all the Marvel movies in order to recognize certain characters, but this is an anthology series, with each episode telling its own isolated story. The new season with have eight episodes and will run until December 29. So, if you were looking for a new show to watch during the Holidays, What If...? Season 3 is the perfect pick, in our opinion.

Squid Game season 2

Release date: December 26, 2024
Available on: Netflix

Korean hit Squid Game is officially returning to Netflix in 2024. The next installment will reunite us with winner Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) – and he's on a quest for revenge. Plot details are otherwise quite thin on the ground, but we do know that we can expect some new games and characters in the new season.

Severance season 2

Release date: January 17, 2025
Available on: Apple TV+

Severance is not only one of the best Apple TV shows, it’s one of the best shows to ever come out. During its first season back in 2022, we were introduced to the dystopian story where employees now have the option to cut off their consciousness during work hours. Their “innies” (work selves) live in a perpetual cycle of corporate life, and soon, they start unraveling their corporations and outer selves (outies) mysteries as they work to escape their 9 to 5 prison. Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, and the second season was delayed, so, needless to say, we’re excited for Severance season 2 to finally return to the small screen.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Release date: January 29, 2025
Available on: Disney Plus

When the MCU introduced Spider-Man to the Marvel timeline with the Tom Holland movies, we didn’t get the typical origin story. Some people liked that. However, some fans missed seeing the early days of Peter Parker. So that’s where Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man comes in! The new animated show is set during an alternate timeline and will see Peter being mentored by Norman Osborn instead of Tony Stark. While this isn’t related to Spider-Man 4 or any other live-action Spider-Man movies, the show is technically still part of the Marvel Phase 5 slate. So, for all you hardcore Marvel fans, definitely add this one to your 2025 watch list.

Daredevil: Born Again

Release date: March, 2025
Available on: Disney Plus

Charlie Cox's Daredevil is getting another series, having returned in Spider-Man: No Way Home and going on to appear in She-Hulk and Echo, though this will be his first-ever starring role as part of the MCU. Plot details are scarce, though we do know that Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin returns and that the series will be 18 episodes long.

However, we'd say this one may still be a way off as even though filming began in March 2023, it's hit some big delays. Marvel has removed the current creative team and is in the process of replacing them.

Ironheart

Ironheart release date: September 3, 2025
Available on: Disney Plus

Not much is known yet about Ironheart, featuring Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams following in the footsteps of her idol, Tony Stark. The character first appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
