Inside the Met Gala afterparties: the best looks from the night

It’s a well known fact: the most fun at any event is saved for the after party.

This year, multiple post-Met Gala parties lit up New York. One of the most glamourous was hosted by British designer Stella McCartney with the help of director Baz Luhrmann at Zero Bond, NYC.

Inside, a stellar list of supermodels including Cara Delevingne, Gisele Bündchen, Amber Valetta, Karlie Kloss and Irina Shyak swapped into more dance appropriate (but still Chanel-centric) looks as they danced the night away.

The fashion designer looked to be a mega host as she posed up a storm wearing a black tuxedo as a dress with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Aubrey Plaza, Olivia Wilde, Roger Federer and her BFF Kate Hudson. Put simply, everyone who’s anyone was there.

Elsewhere, Karl Lagerfeld the brand held a bash at NYC’s The Mark Hotel, where the large majority of the Costume Institute’s starriest guests stay in New York.

Jared Leto’s furry cat head, worn on the red carpet, was thrown around like a beach ball, as the likes of James Cordon, The White Lotus’ Alexandra Daddario and NYC nightlife royalty Amanda Lepore all streamed in via the red carpet.

American singer Teyana Taylor kept her Thom Browne, Lagerfeld inspired tweed dress and tie from the gala on, as she took a moment to pose alongside a huge, silver mould of the late designer’s head, while Lukas Gage and Chris Appleton, who were married last week in a ceremony officiated by Kim Kardashian, looked loved up wearing dark suits and no shirts.

Nicky Hilton Rothschild made a sleek appearance in an off-shoulder black gown, as she joined Everything Everything All At Once star Ke Huy Quan, who posed up a storm wearing fingerless leather gloves which were loved by Lagerfeld.

Elsewhere, the trend for dressing as Choupette, Lagerfeld’s beloved Birman cat, which swept the Met Gala arrivals continued, as one guest came in a full drag feline look complete with facial prosthetics, big white ears and furry, snow-white boots.
