The Dome, George Street

The famous building, which dates back to 1847, has lights wrapped around its Corinthian columns, with wreaths and red bows hung inside arch windows. (SWNS)

One of Edinburgh's most famous festive landmarks, the Dome usually goes all in when it comes to Yuletide decorations, and has some of the most stunning around.

The bar and restaurant's display goes up early every year and is always a good signifier that Christmas is on its way. With lights wrapped around its Corinthian columns, giant wreaths, red bows and even Nutcracker dolls on the balcony, it really is breathtaking.

Best of all, the inside is just as beautiful as the exterior.

Tattu, West Register Street

The Tattu interior has been given a 'dusting of snow' for the festive season (Tattu)

One of Edinburgh's prettiest restaurants has transformed into a 'winter paradise' as part of a new seasonal dining experience this year. Tattu Edinburgh says that the transformation will reflect the Chinese proverb ‘a fall of snow gives promise to a fruitful year’ by snow-dusting their famous interior.

The restaurant’s new winter aesthetic is inspired by China’s annual great snow, with Tattu’s iconic Cherry Blossoms turning an icy blue, and it's the ideal place to enjoy some stunning dishes surrounded by a festive wonderland.

The Three Sisters, the Cowgate

Jingle Bell Rock Fridays, Sundays with Santa, Festive Flix and Bad Santa's Cabaret – the list of festive events at The Three Sisters go on and on.

Another bar that really goes out of its way to celebrate the festive season, one for those on the lookout for a party atmosphere.

Bar Hütte, St James Quarter

Bar Hütte will be offering karaoke, festive cocktails and prosecco (Bar Hütte)

Inspired by some of the coolest après ski bars in Europe, this exciting winter bar combines super snug ski hüttes with festive fun and a party atmosphere.

The ideal place to get your Christmas party on, they have Christmas karaoke for up to eight people in one of their cosy Alpine hüttes, or 20 people in their fun Party Lodges.

Brewhemia, Market St

Another bar that really leans into the festive fun is Brewhemia, which follows in that warm German tradition of loving Christmas.

Expect camembert bar snacks, festive-themed cocktails such as the Cranberry Aperol Spritz and Apple Strudel, and of course, hot toddies and glühwein aplenty.

There are also afternoon teas, festive drag shows, party nights and the chance to hang out with Santa and his cheeky elves.
