Does Diptyque go on sale?
Yes, you can find a Diptyque sale occasionally, but it's rare. You can often shop Diptyque deals at stockists such as Amazon, Net-A-Porter, Selfridges, and more during a major holiday sale event.
When is the best time to buy Diptyque?
The best time to buy Diptyque is around holiday sales events such as Boxing Day, New Year, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Not only is this the perfect time to shop for Christmas beauty gifts, but we often see discounts on the fragrance brand during these major shopping holidays.
During this year's Black Friday sale event, we saw discounts up to £49 off Diptyque Do Son Eau de Toilette at Notino and nearly a £6 price drop on candles. We also spotted brilliant Diptyque deals during last year's Black Friday at Selfridges, with discounts of up to 20% off perfumes, electric wall diffusers, and candles.
What should I buy from Diptyque?
Woman&home's love for Diptyque runs deep - the whole team are big fans. And while we love pretty much everything about the brand, including the home fragrance and bodycare, we swear by their perfumes. Our top picks include:
Soft & powdery
Sweet & citrussy
Powdery citrus
Woody greens
Musky & soft
Spicy woods
Group Beauty Director, Sarah Cooper-White, waxes lyrical of the brand: "During my first job as a journalist I was invited to learn about the brand at their iconic store in Paris. If you love Diptyque it's a must-visit - an Aladdin's cave of perfumes and history. I had never experienced anything like it before and I was intoxicated by this world of luxury fragrance. It's a very special memory for me and began my ongoing love affair with this beautiful brand.
"Each fragrance has a rich story, expertly blended with the finest ingredients - and don't get me started on the exquisite branding that was hand-drawn by co-founder Desmond Knox-Leet when the brand was launched all those years ago. I love so many of Diptyque's fragrances but if I had to pick one it would be Philosykos, as that's the very first Diptyque perfume I owned. For candles - there's so many, but my absolute favourite would be the classic Figuier. Much copied but never matched."
Woman&home's Digital Beauty Writer, Naomi Jamieson, also swears by Diptyque's Papier scent.
"Every time I catch a whiff of this scent, I'm transfixed and have to take another inhale before I can carry on with my life. Somehow it manages to be both rich and delicate as its notes of white musks and blonde woods envelope you in warmth, with just a hint of soft, floral mimosa.
"This scent makes me feel so chic and I'm always delighted by how well it lingers on my skin throughout the day. I also love to spritz it onto my knit jumpers, as it clings to the fibres and leaves them smelling delicious for the next time I want to wear them."
Can't find the Diptyque deal you want? Try these alternatives
We know that Diptyque deals are hard to find, so our Digital Beauty Editor, Aleesha Badkar, has selected alternative scents to a few of her favourite Diptyque perfumes for those who want to make a great saving on a special perfume.
Smells like Tam Dao
As an industry staple this is very rarely included in any deals but does go on sale a little more frequently than Diptyque. It features a woody cedar blend like the warm but fresh Tam Dao, but with a touch of rich sweetness layered over the top.
Smells like Eau de Sens
A lovely summery spritz, this boasts smooth Eau de Sens-like citrus notes of neroli, lemon, mandarin, orange flower and bergamot with warm but fragrant heart and base notes of amber, lavender and rosemary.
Smells like Fleur de Peau
This budget-friendly skin scent is designed to smell different on everyone, but the overall notes of iris, pink pepper and ambrette seeds give this fragrance a warm and musky floral aroma just like Fleur de Peau.
Why Diptyque is worth buying
Diptyque have become an iconic, cult success in the world of home fragrance, and their products are much-loved by luxury fans the world over (including royalty - as Diptyque is said to have been used at Harry and Meghan's wedding).
The brand is partly so popular because its products are high-end and super high quality. The brand is well known for the quality of the raw materials that go into making its products, and for its candles specifically, the purity of the wax used.
Also, their scents take a while to perfect. The brand's founders have explained that while they have their classics (Baies being one of the most popular), new scents can take months to create, which points to the time spent building such a quality product. The brand creates enduringly popular perfumes for women but they also make some of the best men’s colognes on the market too, expanding their fan base further.
Of course, aesthetics come into it too. The look of their Parisian-style, minimalistic jars and packaging is stunning and utterly timeless, meaning their products look beautiful in any home. For many shoppers, the brand exemplifies luxury, making their candles, diffusers, and fragrances an immediate go-to when shopping for presents.
Can you return Diptyque?
Yes—although we can't imagine you'll want to, Diptyque Paris do offer free returns on any of their products within 28 days from the date of delivery.
It's worth noting that, as expected, the items must be unused and in their original packaging.
Diptyque also state that they cannot offer exchanges, so if you wish to return your item for something else, you'll have to return your item for a refund, and purchase the new item as a separate order.
If purchasing Diptyque products from a third-party retailer, then you will have to adhere to their separate returns policies.
What can I expect from Diptyque deals?
To be quite honest, we struggled to find Diptyque savings during the 2023 sales, but the top savings to be had were at Selfridges and Net A Porter.
Among the rare savings, we saw the Diptyque Tempo eau de parfum reduced by £25, down to £100 from £125. The Electric Wall Diffuser also saw one of the biggest reductions, going from £90 to £72, an £18 discount. Diptyque sets also saw some great discounts. In the UK, the Baies Reed Diffuser and Refill set went from £138 to £110.40, saving shoppers £27.60.
Smaller discounts were seen on candles, but given that Diptyque very rarely runs sales, if you want one, it's still one of the best times to pick them up at a reduced price.
