It's only a few days until December which means the countdown to Christmas will truly begin. It's when many of us bring down our Christmas tree from the loft, spend hours untangling our lights and get to work transforming our homes into winter wonderlands.
But for those of you just as excited about December 25th as our Secret Elves, the festive period has already begun, so we asked the people of Liverpool to send photos of their decorations to Rate My Decs.
Elf Alan and Elf Amy have loved seeing all of your fantastic displays and have been rating them out of ten, but they want to see more.
From traditional trees to huge light displays, we've been sent so many fantastic photographs. Can you do better?
Help spread some festive cheer and sprinkle a little magic over your home by putting up your Christmas decorations a little earlier than usual? Who said November is too early for decorations?
From pretty in pink to some that, well we'll just have to let the pictures do the talking, here are some of our top picks.
1. Homemade and personalised
Adding a personal touch to her Christmas decorations, Nicole sent us a photo of her handmade and personalised bottles. Transformed into Christmas lights, these bottles will certainly help to create a cosy setting at Christmas. We've got decoration envy, who doesn't want their own personalised Christmas dec?
2. Christmas, Christmas, Christmas
Wow! Have you ever seen a tree with so many decorations? We're sure Lynsey ran out of space otherwise she would have kept going. There's elves, there's Santa, there's gingerbread men, Rudolph, sweets, baubles, nutcrackers - this tree really captures every single element of Christmas and we love it.
3. The Grinch
Sticking with traditional inside, Mandy has had a bit of fun with her external decorations with a Grinch theme. With a Grinch on her door and her window, we love these playful decorations. It was something a little different from all the lovely Christmas trees we've been sent, and we're sure and children who pass by will love it too.
4. A neighbourhood display
The neighbours on Kellee's street all worked together to put on this fantastic light display. It was something they all wanted to do after a horrible year. Christmas is all about family and friends which is why we love this photo so much. It really was a joint effort and brightens up the whole neighbourhood.
5. A floral Christmas
Barely a single branch still visible, Kathy's tree is simple yet stunning and must have taken her ages to decorate. Elegant and modern with a white and pink theme, we love it. It was one of many lovely pink and white Christmas trees we've seen this year but we just love the flowers on this one.
6. All that glitters
Jennifer and her three children decorated this tree together and what a great job they've done. We particularly love the glitter decorations, after all, what is Christmas without a little glitter? The Merry Christmas sign is the perfect addition to this tree and we love how they're raring to go with the Christmas countdown with their advent calendars stuck to the wall.
7. It's an elf takeover
How could we not love this one? Look how many elves there are! Decorated with items that Lisa has collected over the years, this tree just screams fun. We particularly love the legs poking out of the top of the tree. Who said it needs to be a star or an angel at the top? This must have taken forever to decorate but the end result is well worth it because it's one of our favourites.
8. Fun and flamboyant
Another of the magnificent looking pink themed trees we've been sent, except this time with a flamboyant edge. Sent in to us by Kerry, we especially love the feather boar running all the way down and the swan on top. Kerry is obviously very creative, also demonstrated by the pictures she sent us of her homemade wreath and garlands.
9. Sentimental
It's not only the way this tree looks that we love, although we do, it's the fitting way Rachel acknowledges the people no longer with us with the angel wings on the top. So touching. We also love the feather boa acting as a skirt along around the bottom. Her decorations are not only thoughtful, but elegant and classic looking too.
10. The cheeky elf
Sent in by Kelly and her one-year-old Lilliana, we really like how the cheeky elf seems to have got itself stuck in the tree. It's a really fun and festive way to decorate, and of course we love it, it has an elf in it. Christmas is a chance to have some fun, especially when there are children around so we love how this tree reflects that.
11. Modernly matching
Nadine obviously knows a thing or two about interior design, her tree matches perfectly with the decor of her house. In fact, if she left it up all year round it probably wouldn't look out of place. It's elegant and a modern take on a more traditional tree. And we love how her cute little dog seems to be perfectly posed in front of the tree.
12. A sweet tooth
Laura obviously loves all of the delicious sweet treats associated with Christmas that she's decorated her tree with this in mind. Candy canes, lolly pops, sweets, donuts - they can all be found in and amongst this tree. We love the theme, and the twinkling of the multicoloured lights.
13. Spreading the festive cheer
Paul obviously put a lot of effort into this light display in his garden, so much so that he has people visit to come and see them. We particularly love how he's created a fake snow scene and the path lined with candy canes. He's definitely spreading some festive cheer to his neighbours.
14. Say hello to Santa
Someone else who's gone all out is Francesca with her garden full off inflatable characters. That must have taken her ages. There's certainly no shortage of Santas and we're sure this display must put a smile on the faces of all the children that wander past. We particularly love the Santa snow globe.
15. A winter wonderland
This elegantly decorated tree makes us think of a snowy winter wonderland with its frosted branches and silver and white baubles. Rachel has done a beautiful job with her decorations, we love it. We also like the additional decorations that sit around the tree, matching it perfectly. The glittery boots a particular highlight.
16. Made with love
Not only do these fantastic decorations look great in Lee's front garden, they're all handmade and painted by Lee himself. What a professional job he's done, we would never have guessed they were homemade unless he told us. Forget paper chains and homemade baubles, Lee has gone all out. We're seriously impressed!
17. A hint of gold
Gold might not be the colour of choice for many of the trees we've seen this year but after seeing how well Shirley has incorporated it into her tree, we think more people should consider it. We love how the gold adds flashes of colour against the other decorations. And of course we have to mention those feathers, don't they look fabulous?
18 . Elegant in red
Kayleigh's theme is not only confined to the tree, she's carried it on throughout the living room. it's unlike any of the others we've seen, we love how it's been decorated. We particularly like the garland draped over the fireplace and the nutcracker standing guard. She's made a professional job of her decorations and she did it all by herself.
19. Wonderful window art
Wow! Lucy obviously has a creative side and she's shown the people of Merseyside just how artsy she is with her painted window decorations. Her nutcrackers look amazing. This has definitely got to be one of our favourite decorations, so original. It's like her nutcrackers are standing guard outside her house. We've not seen anything quite like it.
20. A traditional Christmas
This tree photo sent to us by Kate just proves you don't have to go over the top when decorating your tree. Traditional and simple does't have to be a bad thing. We love how this tree is decorated, it looks fantastic. We also really like how nearly every decoration is completely different, with a few personalised ones thrown in too.
