With Chinese New Year fast approaching, you may want to mark the event with a tasty array of Asian dishes.

The city will celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Tiger in style with an iconic Lion Dance performance, a traditional part of Chinese New Year festivities that is meant to bring good luck.

Topping the TripAdvisor list is the Pavillion which is the best Chinese restaurant in Consett and the second-best out of 34 restaurants in Consett.
Serving traditional Cantonese and Chinese dishes, this restaurant has 100 meals on offer so there's plenty of choice for the whole family.
It's got an overall TripAdvisor rating of 4.5 out of more than 800 reviews, with people complimenting the food and the interior of the restaurant itself.
One reviewer wrote: "Perfect as ever… great food and service. Always the go-to place to eat in the area. Covid friendly and prices are pretty fair for the offering."
Meanwhile, another person said: "Thank you Pavilion for a perfect celebration. We visited to celebrate two family birthdays and can’t fault the place. The food was fab, service was fantastic."
Eastern Bamboo Chinese Restaurant

Out of almost 200 reviews, the Eastern Bamboo Chinese Restaurant has an overall review of 4.5 stars.
It is also rated 27 out of 198 restaurants in Darlington and serves a variety of Chinese, Asian, Thai, and Fusion food.
Customers took to TripAdvisor to recommend the restaurant to others stating it had amazing service and food.
One reviewer said: "Just had a takeaway and it was delicious, first started going to Eastern Bamboo almost 30 years ago and every single time the food has always been consistently good."
Another said: "A lucky find while on a mini-break to the Darlington and Durham area. Did a google search for restaurants close to our hotel and picked Eastern Bamboo. The staff were lovely."
Inshanghai

Inshanghai serves a delicious all-you-can-eat buffet featuring some of the nation's favourite Chinese dishes including chow mein and sweet and sour dishes.
After first opening in 2007, Inshanghai became a popular and well-established restaurant which is located on the Durham Riverside, next to Framwellgate Bridge.
As well as delicious food, customers will also be able to take in the fabulous views of Durham Castle.
One review said: "I've been to this restaurant many times for the lunch buffet and never been disappointed. Any food that is running out was restocked fast and it's always cooked well."
Another person said: "Food was good quality and constantly being refilled. Not like an average buffet where the food goes dry, this place is the opposite. The food was fresh and very tasty."
Bambudda Darlington

One reviewer said: "Amazing service from our waitress and delicious food brought to us very quickly! Such amazing flavors that you don't get with a takeaway Chinese! Cocktails are delicious!"

It's got a 4 out 5 rating on TripAdvisor from 161 reviews with people complimenting the quality of food and "outstanding" service.
One review said: "Food was delicious 10/10, service 10/10. Yet to find a reason to go anywhere else. Keep up the good work!"
