The best celebrity Mother’s Day tributes: from David Beckham to Dua Lipa

In the UK, the last weekend of March is an important one: it’s Mother’s Day.

And while some people might opt to mark the occasion with a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates, of course the celebs were online and posting tributes to the special women in their lives.

Among them: Davina McCall, Holly Willoughby, Dua Lipa and David Beckham.

Here, we round up some of the best.

David Beckham

Talk about going above and beyond: Beckham uploaded a massive Instagram post featuring pictures both of his wife Victoria with their four children, and of his own mother Sandra, who was at his side as he shot to fame in the Nineties.

"I'm so lucky to have so many incredible women around me who are the most amazing mum's I learn from you every single day,” he wrote. “Happy Mothers Day @victoriabeckham @sandra_beckham49 @jackie.adams_ We Love You so much. Kiddies are so lucky to have a mum like yours."

Dua Lipa

The pop singer opted to keep things casual, posting on her story rather than her Instagram feed. Nevertheless, her 87 million followers still saw her post: a simple snap of the singer with her mother, and writing ‘HAPPY MOTHERS DAY @anesalipa… I love you.’ Very sweet.

The Royals

What Mother’s Day is complete without a post from the royal family? This time around, it took the form of a beautifully shot video featuring some shots of the natural beauty of the UK: coastlines, forests and waving grass, along with a message from Kate Middleton.

“Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary,” she wrote – a reference to her recent struggles with cancer. “This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life. C”

Plus, there was a post on the official Royal account, featuring pics of the late Queen Elizabeth II, as well as Camilla’s mother and a wish for “all mothers, and those who are missing theirs today” to have a peaceful Mothering Sunday.

Catherine Zeta Jones

Nothing says Mother’s Day more than sharing snaps from a recent holiday… which Welsh actor Catherine Zeta Jones did, alongside pictures of herself as a child and, of course, a lot of her mother, Patricia Fair.

"Happy British Mother's Day Mam. You are my Queen and the wind beneath my wings. I love you with all my heart."

Davina McCall

Here’s one for all the step-mums out there: presenter and host Davina McCall shared a very sweet post of herself with her step mother, Gaby.

"Happy Mother's Day to you, Gaby. I was six years old when you became my stepmum. And for the last 51 years you have always been there for me through thick and thin,” she wrote.

"And when I was younger, there was quite a lot of that! The door was always open to come home, And I'm so so grateful for that. You ARE grandma to my kids. They love you to the moon and back. And I don't know what Michael and I would've done without you these last four months. We are so grateful. I love you with all of my heart mama, thank you for everything. And Milly, thank you for sharing her with me!"

Holly Willoughby

The presenter opted to share a sweet trio of pictures on Instagram – including one of her mother posing with none other than Rod Stewart. Quite a flex.

"Like Rod said… Always been the BEST part of me,” she wrote. “Thank you for your strength and guidance... Love you so much mamma… Happy Mother's Day."
