Now that Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with a massive Cover Screen and a thinner overall build, it’s time to think about accessories, especially if you’ve already taken advantage of the excellent preorder savings on Samsung’s latest flip phone.

Considering it’s a $1,000 smartphone, you’ll want to protect it and ensure it looks its best after you unbox it. From first-party cases made by Samsung to a bevy of third-party options from brands like Casetify, Urban Armor Gear, and Zagg, there are many to choose from. So ahead, we’re sharing our 9 favorite Galaxy Z Flip 5 cases.
One thing to note: if you’re upgrading from the Galaxy Z Flip 4 or any previous generation of Z Flip, you’ll need to get a new case. Between the larger Cover Screen and a thinner build, older cases will not fit the device.
Samsung Clear Gadget Case for Galaxy Z Flip 5, $50 at Samsung
I’m currently testing Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5 in Mint alongside the Clear Gadget Case, and it’s one of the most functional options available. It’s a clear case that lets the color of your Z Flip shine through and has a coating to protect it from eventually yellowing or showing off too much grease. It also provides access to the USB-C port, fingerprint sensor, and volume rocker.
Built into the rear is a key ring that can be pulled out and rotated to carry the Z Flip 5 easily or to prop it up since it can act as a kickstand. Samsung will sell additional attachments like lanyards, chains, and PopSockets that can effortlessly attach to the Clear Gadget Case.
Samsung FlipSuit Case for Galaxy Z Flip 5, $60 at Samsung
Samsung’s FlipSuit Case is poised to be the most interactive and eye-catching case for the Z Flip 5. Like the Clear Gadget Case, it’s two pieces attach to the top and bottom of the Z Flip, but it mixes things up with interchangeable back panels. You get two designs in the box, but Samsung will sell additional colors, famous characters like Mickey Mouse, and even designs by Keith Harring. When a card is in place, it will unlock an exclusive wallpaper for the Z Flip 5’s Cover Screen.
The interchangeable cards boast NFC (Near Field Communication), which effortlessly sends the custom wallpaper to the Cover Screen of the Z Flip 5. It’s really neat, and once additional backcards become available, we’ll update this guide.
Casetify Impact Case for Galaxy Z Flip 5, $72 at Casetify
While $72 is not a small sum, Casetify makes some of the most spectacular and protective cases on the market. The Impact Case for Z Flip 5 protects the folding flip phone from drops up to 5 feet and features raised bezels around the displays. The interior bands of the case, which wrap around the frame of the Z Flip 5, feature an “EcoShock” lining to further protect from drops and impact shakes. You can customize the Impact Case with many designs like Strawberry Checkers, Color Cloud, or Butterfly Aurora. You can even add custom text to the case.
Spigen Air Skin for Galaxy Z Flip 5, $25 at Amazon
If you’re after a case that doesn’t add much weight, consider Spigen’s Air Skin case for the Z Flip 5. It comes in seven shades, including Rose Purple, Apple Minit, or Transparent, and is just $25 before an additional 5% discount from an on-page coupon. The case is crafted from a polycarbonate material to protect the phone from drops and has a special coating to ensure the color doesn’t fade. As any case should, it gives you easy access to buttons and the single port and doesn’t obstruct the Cover Screen.
Zagg Bridgetown for Galaxy Z Flip 5, $60 at Zagg
While Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5 features Armor Aluminum and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, Zagg’s Bridgetown protects the folding phone from drops up to 10 feet. The case comes in one color, black, and features Graphene for next-level protection. It also boasts an antimicrobial treatment and protects the hinge of the Z Flip 5 for complete 360-degree coverage.
Spigen Thin Fit Pro for Galaxy Z Flip 5, $40 at Amazon
Spigen’s Thin Fit Pro is crafted from a blend of TPU and polycarbonate materials to better protect from drops and raises the display bezels to protect it from scratches or scuffs. The Thin Fit Pro aims to make buttons easier to find with slightly more prominent, easily pressed cutouts. It comes in a transparent “Cyrstial Clear” or a subtle “Frost Gray” for $40 at Amazon.
Urban Armor Gear Pylo for Galaxy Z Flip 5, $70 at UAG
True to the brand, Urban Armor Gears’ Pylo Series provides military-grade drop protection in a slim, two-piece case. It’s rated and tested for the 810G 516.6 military standard and succeeds with a frame made from TPU to absorb impacts from drops and a polycarbonate rear for added strength. Like the first-party case, the top and bottom pieces snap onto the Z Flip 5 and stay in place with included adhesive. The bezels around the external and internal displays are raised, plus with the Pylo Series case installed, you can still wirelessly charge the phone.
Case-Mate Touch Clear for Galaxy Z Flip 5, $50 at Case-Mate
While Case-Mate hasn’t released colorful or reflective cases for the Z Flip 5 yet, you can lock in a preorder for the Tough Clear. It delivers up to 12 feet of drop protection and a lifetime warranty, meaning you can get a replacement quickly if the case breaks or begins to yellow. It’s a minimalist approach to protecting your Z Flip 5 and lets the device's design shine through.
Urban Armor Gear Pylo Pro for Galaxy Z Flip 5, $70 at UAG
Like the standard Pylo case from Urban Armor Gear, the Pylo Pro for Z Flip 5 offers a lot of protection in a sleek build. It aims to cure FOMO and jealousy of the iPhone’s MagSafe standard. Built into the rear back-plate are magnets that let you charge the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with MagSafe or magnetic compatible chargers. You can pick from three designs: Olive, Ash, or Ice with Space Grey.
