Everyone knows that Black Friday is the best time to score a major saving on big-ticket items, but not everybody makes the most of the opportunity to save on everyday items. As a sales hunter, some of the best deals I've spotted are cleaning and organizing essentials.
As Homes & Gardens' Home Tech Editor, and a shopping writer who's worked every major sales event since 2021, I can confirm that Black Friday is the best time to stock up on cleaning goods you use all year round.
I lead a team of expert testers to sample the world's best vacuums and cleaning products, so I know whether they're worth your time. Now, among all the Black Friday home deals, plenty of our favorite products are at their lowest prices we've ever seen, so I've put together this live blog to send each of them your way.

Here, you'll find LIVE updates on the best Black Friday cleaning deals. From deal spotlights to expert product insights and retailer sale information, our real-time updates have you covered this Black Friday.
Hi everyone, Dan here, Homes & Gardens' Home Tech Editor (responsible for all things cleaning, smart home, sound and air treatment across the Solved section on the website). I'm kicking things off on our Black Friday cleaning deals LIVE page with a great Dyson deal.
Looking for a quick and easy way to remove odors in your home? Now it's winter, the increase in musty, damp smells is only on the increase (especially as we're not opening our windows as often), and these handy little charcoal bags can be placed all over the home to help target unwanted odors.
Hello! Punteha here. I'm Head of Solved at Homes & Gardens, and I write and edit in excess of 1500 articles a year on cleaning and organizing. Here are the top tips I've taken from the brilliant professional cleaners I've spoken to in 2024.
There are many natural cleaning products you can use to get your home spic and span, that also double up as pantry essentials, meaning none of it will go to waste. Clean with white vinegar to tackle limescale, mold, odors and to freshen up musty laundry. The smell evaporates as it dries but you can bulk-buy lavender-scented cleaning white vinegar on Amazon instead, currently on offer from Amazon for Black Friday.
Cleaning with baking soda is the other pantry staple that's turned out to be my favorite tip from cleaning experts this year. I've used it to deodorize smelly spills on the sofa, freshen up tired shoes and neutralize whiffs in our busy fridge. Amazon's Black Friday deal on aluminum-free baking soda is worth snapping up, and you can use it in cooking too! I also found it was a brilliant, gentle abrasive cleaning agent on stubborn scorch marks on my glass stovetop.
I've also militantly swapped out any paper towel usage for long-lasting microfiber cloths. I buy them in bulk and wash them without laundry softener to help maintain their absorbency. A colorful multiple of Mr. Siga microfiber cloths from Amazon, is now on sale with 43% off. P.S pick a color for each room's cleaning to avoid cross-contamination in your home.
Hi everyone – Dan again, before I log off for the night, I wanted to leave you with one last deal from Bissell (but don't worry, I'll be back again tomorrow to bring you even more Black Friday cleaning deals).
Hi everyone, Dan here. We're now one day away from Black Friday and the sales are in full swing. I'm kicking off today with an early-morning deal on Shark's latest and greatest cordless vacuum, the Cordless PowerDetect, that has a cool new feature of being able to bend to reach under furniture. We tested it a few weeks ago and loved its incredible cleaning power, how easy it is to use, and how it detects what's on your floors to stay at the right suction.
Dan again – here with an exciting offer on an air purifier I use in my own bedroom. Molekule's premium purifiers are among the best in the world (they're the only ones FDA-approved as Class II medical devices!) as they have a third layer of filtration. While most purifiers will have a tight mesh filter for particles (like a HEPA filter) and an activated carbon filter for gases, Molekule's purifiers use PECO technology to actually destroy the harmful pollutants at the molecular level. And now, the small and stylish Molekule Air Mini+ is now at its lowest price ever for Black Friday.
Now, buying cleaning goods on Black Friday CAN be exciting if you're bringing a worthy upgrade into your home. Robot vacuums are exactly that: they can save you a tremendous amount of time doing chores around the house, cleaning your floors as often as multiple times a day. They prevent the build up of dirt, dust and pet hair on your floors, so when it is time for a deep clean, there's barely any work to be done.
Not only is iRobot Roomba one of our favorite brands, it's also the oldest name in the robot vacuum world, and they continue to make some of the best-quality robots ever produced. For Black Friday, their three top-of-the-line models are all on sale with $100s' worth of discounts. Take your pick.
Latest release
Was $1,399.99, now $999 at Amazon
We're still in the process of testing this one, but as it's the most advanced Roomba yet, we're expecting incredible things. It boasts extra-strong mopping, edge sweeping brushes and powerful suction to pull dirt from carpets.
One of our favorites
Was $899.99, now $599.99 at iRobot
The Roomba j9+ is one of the most powerful and comprehensive vacuum cleaners we've ever tested. It has a clever brushroll that avoids hair tangling at all costs, and can even pull dirt out of carpets – something that many robots at this price can't.
We've actually reviewed the iRobot Roomba Combo j9+, which is the same robot vacuum but with an added mop function. That robot sells for hundreds of dollars more, but if you're looking for a robot vacuum and mop, you can grab a bundle of the iRobot Roomba j9+ and the Braava Jet m6 (iRobot's best vacuum mop) for $808.98, with a massive $590 discount.
Amazing value
Was $799.99, now $359 at Amazon
In our Roomba j7+ review, we enjoyed how incredibly well it performs on pet hair, and it even comes with a P.O.O.P. Promise (Pet Owner Official Promise) that, if it runs over any accidental pet messes, iRobot will send a replacement. The j7+ is a few years old now so has become much cheaper than when it was first released, but it's still a reliable cleaner that will make light work of your floors.
If you'd prefer a robot with an added mop function, you can also get the iRobot Roomba Combo j7+ for $699.99 in iRobot Black Friday's sale. It's definitely worth considering for regular deep cleaning of your hard floors.
Hi, Punteha here again. We are big fans of DIY cleaning solutions and doing things the non-toxic way at H&G and laundry is no exception.
Instead of using synthetic and chemical-laden dryer sheets to remove static and add a pleasant scent to your washing, swap it for this much cheaper essential oil dryer hack I tried and loved.
To a damp clean cloth, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Place this in the dryer with your wet clothes. As the machine dries them together, the fragrance of the oils will leave the laundry smelling fabulous. I love that luxury spa smell so I used this laundry dryer hack with 100% pure geranium oi from Amazon, currently discounted for Black Friday.
Whilst we’re at it, citric acid is a great natural grime buster and cleaning agent, just don't use it on porous stone or shiny chrome. There’s a bulk buy of Walmart’s Citric acid, heavily discounted with more than $50 off and free shipping. It’s useful for jam making and canning too if you’re a bit of a baker.
Finally, I tried a lemon juice DIY cleaning spray on stubborn faucet limescale and it lifted the mineral deposits where commercial cleaners had failed. Keep your DIY sprays in lovely amber glass bottles from Amazon so you can use again and again. When you’re done making your spray, pop the lemon halves in the dishwasher for a superior clean.
If you're looking for a new laundry hamper this Black Friday, look no further than this highly-rated Joseph Joseph Tota that Punteha, our H&G Head of Solved absolutely loves.
Hey, Dan here again, this time with some tried-and-tested advice on how to shop for a vacuum cleaner in the sales.
I've covered every major sale event since 2021 and now have all the possible tips and tricks to maximize your savings this Black Friday. For the short version: shop online as in-store prices and stock can be unreliable, use price comparison tools like Honey and Camel to know whether you're getting the best price (or an exaggerated discount), and utilize subscriber promos if it's your first order on a retailer's website.
But above all else: do your research first. Black Friday overwhelms us with flashy deals promising the lowest prices of all time, and if you go in without a clear goal in mind, there's a chance you'll get tempted by something you wouldn't normally buy. We have expert tests on the best cordless vacuums, best upright vacuums and best vacuums for pet hair so you can make your decision before getting stuck in.
Vacuum cleaners come in countless models and variations. Some brands are also famous for filling product pages with confusing terms (looking at you, Shark), so consult our vacuum cleaner jargon buster to get clued up on what it all means. Knowing how to choose the right vacuum cleaner for your home is essential info too, as not all vacuums are designed for every home.
If you're on the hunt for a new vacuum cleaner this Black Friday, I have to recommend the new Shark POWERDETECT, which quickly became the best upright vacuum we've tested. Upright vacuums are the ideal option for busy homes with kids and/or pets, as cordless vacuums just aren't able to match their cleaning power.
If you live with pets, you'll be all-too-familiar with how often you have to clean up after them. Our cats and dogs somehow manage to get their fur stuck to everything, and it never quite comes out as easily as you'd hope (unless you have the best vacuum for pet hair, of course).
Our Solved editor Punteha lives with two heavy shedders, the lovely Sparkle and Garfield (pictured above, doing what he does best), and she swears by three simple tools to pull pet hair out of carpets, upholstery, stairs and clothes.
For furniture
Was $27.99, now $19.56 at Amazon
Punteha has two velvet black sofas, and cats that refuse to sleep anywhere else, so she uses one of these and it's fab for pet hair removal.
For carpets and stairs
Was $12.99, now $6.99 at Amazon
This carpet rake pulls up everything and is better than any robot vacuum or powerful canister/cordless to remove cat fur from carpets all over our home. We even use it to test how much fur a vacuum's cleaned from a carpet.
For clothes
Was $25.95, now $16.10 at Amazon
Punteha keeps one of these in every room of the house. It's great for regular old lint and fluff but mine is in constant use on my clothes, sofas, beds, pillows, etc to remove cat hair. The diagonal pattern of sheets means you never end up half tearing the sticky bits when removing a used one.
We all know Dyson make some of the world's best vacuums, but from the 50 vacuum tests we've done here at H&G, I can confirm they really do outperform most others. The latest and best Dyson vacuums are wildly expensive, but you can still get your hands on a strong Dyson without having to take out a loan.
Black Friday deals are the perfect time to save a little money on unglamorous essentials. Is this deal as exciting as a new smartphone? No. But it saves you some money on a boring basic, freeing up more cash for everything else you want to buy.
There are some big discounts on laundry detergent, too, so you can save a little money on everyday essentials.
Thanks for following along. That's me done for the day, but I just spotted a discount on a handy blanket basket that will make it much easier to organize your blankets and throws as winter sets in.
Morning, everyone, and happy Black Friday − I'm Dan, H&G's Home Tech Editor, back at it again with the deepest discounts on cleaning and organizing essentials. Prices on some of the bigger gadgets, from vacuums to air purifiers, are staying static, but I'm seeing drops in prices on everyday items, such as this lavender essential oil.
This isn't the most glamorous deal on offer, but it's a deep discount on an essential item. You can never have too much toilet cleaner, and you make a big saving when you buy in bulk. Stock up on this set of 12 from Clorox to save you shopping for it piece by piece.
I can't resist a good gadget, but I like my machines to be multifunctional. There's only so much space in my cleaning products, so I'm looking for versatile workhorses that I can put to use throughout the house, like this combination mop and steamer.
I'm very sensitive to smells. Sometimes, I leave our test lab with a real headache after hours of exposing myself to chemicals. This lemon zest scent isn't overpowering, but it does smell nice and clean.
I'm about to sign off for the night, but here's one last deal before I go. Now that I've had a chance to shop the sales for myself, I wanted to show you what I've bought.
I don't have a dishwasher, so I do all my washing by hand, and I've been looking for a way to organize my crockery. I shopped around Walmart and Target but I found the deepest discount and the best reviews on Amazon.
Thanks for following our Black Friday cleaning deals LIVE journey! We're going to leave you with a round-up of the very best deals to buy right now – remember, Black Friday is a great chance to stock up on all of those everyday home essentials, not just large appliances!
