The Beatles' iconic White Album is back in both the US and UK charts thanks to a special reissue edition that was released for the album's 50th anniversary.
The massive deluxe reissue, dedicated to the band's 1968 masterpiece, has been released in a variety of formats.
On the new box sets, the album's 30 tracks have been remastered and are joined by 27 early acoustic demos and 50 session takes – most of which were previously unreleased.
The process of putting the reissue together was overseen by Giles Martin, son of the record's main producer – the late George Martin.
According to Billboard, the special edition has sold a total of 63,000 copies and achieved its best chart position on the Billboard 200 since March 1969.
Last year, The Beatles' album Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band achieved the same feat, with the former No 1 album re-entering the Billboard 200 at No 3 on 17 June 2017 – nearly 50 years after it last appeared in the top 10.
In the UK, the album is at No 4 in the charts, having spent eight weeks at the top upon its original release.
The White Album was released on 22 November in 1968. It was the ninth album from the British rock band and includes classics such as "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Blackbird".
