With all the travel chaos brought by flight cancellations this summer, a few of us might be considering an old-fashioned Scottish staycation instead.
Of course, there's the issue of the weather - and this year in particular feels like its taken a bit of time to warm up.
However, for when/if the sun fully shines, there's a 'hidden gem' beach bar we've stumbled across that leaves you feeling like you're on a Caribbean island.

We've previously vouched for the Isle of Arran as the perfect day trip from Glasgow. Hop on the ferry from Ardrossan (reachable from Central Station, when the trains are running) and you'll soon be sailing into 'Scotland in miniature'.
Meanwhile, Arran was recently named one of the UK's most beautiful island escapes by luxury travel magazine Suitcase and we believe its well worth a visit for its whisky and cheese, castles and hikes, food, drink, stunning scenery and much, much more.
And there's another reason too.
Near the base of Goatfell and close to the majestic Brodick Castle, you'll find Arran Botanical Drinks, a beach hut bar looking out over the Firth of Clyde and where you can sip on some delicious cocktails with your feet in the sand.
And the owners hit the nail on the head when they describe the one-of-kind-drink spot, saying: "You’ll forget you’re even in Scotland when you visit our Beach Bar."
They continue: "We make gin, cassis, botanical beers and serve them up to you in our cocktail bar on the beach.
"Come and enjoy cocktails on the beach or book a tasting session and learn about cocktail-making, the Arran Botanical way."
But it's not just for the summer months either - you can coorie down with a cosy fire when it starts to cool, with owners adding: "Under clear blue summer skies, you could be in the Med…. or in an Alpine ski lodge in the winter."
On the drinks menu at the beach hut, you'll find the likes of the Shop Arran Martini, Purple Haze and Sex On Cladach Beach.
But - unsurprisingly - those lucky enough to have taken a trip to the unique bar have had plenty to rave about besides the drinks.
One recent visitor said: "What a spot to have a bar! Very bright, sunny day too so I thought I was on some Caribbean island.
"You can't miss it if you go up to Brodick Castle."
Another person said: "Wonderful setting, friendly and attentive staff and the cocktails were out of this world."
A further review sums up the thoughts of many by saying: "This place was one of the best local independent bars. The view was amazing along with drink choices.
"Very well priced and would recommend to everyone visiting Arran."
If you're looking to go somewhere a little 'exotic' this summer, this might be the place for you.
