The areas of Nottinghamshire where £105 DWP payments will start being paid

Thousands of people across Nottinghamshire will receive a combined £19 million as the Department for Work and Pensions rolls out its latest cost of living payment. People entitled to the new payment started receiving the latest £150 payment on June 20, with the programme being delivered over two weeks.

The £150 payment is separate to the £301 cost of living support paid to eight million households this year. This latest payment will be given to those who were claiming one of nine benefits from April 1.

In Nottinghamshire, there are 126,800 people who are eligible for the latest payment, with £19,020,000 being the total amount spent in the county. Mansfield has the highest percentage of population eligible for the latest payment, with 14% of residents due to receive it.

In Nottingham, 11% of the population will get the payment, with 36,200 claimants receiving a combined £5,430,000. The DWP says anyone entitled to the payment will not need to apply and should receive the money automatically.

The payment reference on bank statements will appear as the person’s national insurance number, followed by "DWP COL". Those expecting a payment have been warned of the risk of scammers, who will use events such as cost-of-living payments to try to trick people into handing over personal details or money.
