The Arcade Vaults gaming centre in Cardiff has announced its immediate closure. The Arcade Vaults had been open in Cardiff's High Street Arcade for five years as a not-for-profit facility for players and creators of video games to play and learn about different games. The not-for-profit company announced their permanent closure on Monday, March 13.
The company started as a pop-up game event in different venues in 2016 before it opened permanently in the High Street Arcade in 2018, which allowed them to expand their collection of games and open a café/bar.

The venue statement on social media said:
In a statement regarding the closure on Monday, March 13, owner Chris Munasinha and the team said: "These last few years have been incredibly challenging for us, just like many other businesses, but the unique nature of our not-for-profit community has made it even more difficult to keep going."
"Creating this magical space has been an incredible journey, and we take comfort in the knowledge that we've brought happiness to many people, created new friendships, and provided a safe haven for those in need.
"Please keep an eye out for future projects from some of our team members who will continue to be active in the community. As for the others and myself in particular - we will be taking a step back to work on ourselves and enjoy a more regular lifestyle."
